Just booked my trip for the GC match. First time interstate for a Carlton game- cannot wait. Go Blues!

Have you purchased tickets to the game as well or just banking on that it wont be a full-house and tickets will be readily available?

Suns site indicates they have a touch over 10,000 members as at today. They'd be happy with that, but can't see them exceeding their target of 15,000. Carlton members and the general public could get access to last years game at the Gabba, so there shouldn't be any probs here. It should also be noted that AFL members will have limited access to tickets for GOld Coast home matches for 2011...

Got a package deal through the Women of Carlton that includes the ticket.

I rang Carlton and they said they get them about 4 weeks before each interstate game.

I then rang the AFL and they said that they are waiting on the Gabba to arrange for a release of tickets from their designated ticketing agency. The lasy I spoke to didnt envisage that this would happen until the end of this month at the earliest.

We must smash them, and smash them VERY well. Otherwise we'll be a laughing stock.

Does anyone know how much it costs (and approximately how long it takes) to take a train or bus from the Gold Coast to the Gabba?

Thanks.

Train is easiest. Cost is a bit under $15 non-concession.

Time is about an hour. Hop off at the South Brisbane station. About a ten minute walk to the Gabba.

Pfft they are playing NAB Cup against Sydney teams of which 1 will never win, the other tries to never win.

Gold Coast will get better, but they won't be that much better that a decent team won't beat them. Ratts should be sakced if we lose to them.

I still remember the Crows very first game against Hawthorn where they were expected to get smashed, but actually won very easily. First game emotion is a powerful force & we need to be switched on from the start to avoid a shock defeat.

Gabba Home Games

With three games in Brisbane including the Gold Coast SUNS first AFL Premiership Season match against Carlton and the much awaited clash against state rivals the Brisbane Lions, football fans have a great opportunity to see something a little different at the Gabba at the start of 2011!

Reserved seating for all three Gabba games will go on sale for the following groups at the following dates and times:

Gold Coast SUNS Silver Unreserved Members (Using 12 digit membership barcode)
From 9am, Monday, February 28 until 5pm, Thursday, March 3
Gold Coast SUNS Registered Fans (Using password which will be emailed 2 days prior to the on-sale) From 9am, Friday, March 4 until 5pm, Sunday, March 6
General Public From 9am, March 7

http://www.goldcoastfc.com.au

For those concerned about tickets ( ), you can become a registered fan and get tickets before the general public. GC site states less than 11,000 members...

Btw, train and Brisbane city bus services (possibly Gold Coast aswell) should be 'free' for ticketholders...

thanks for the info on ticket sales to this game. I have just had a look on the Ticketmaster website and the way i read it is that Carlton members do not seem to have any opportunity to purchase tickets before the general public do, which doesnt seem fair. It looks like March 7th is the date we can purchase tickets. I will check with the AFL on Monday to confirm this. Hopefully those of us going can get to sit in the same area.
