Just watched the 1995 premiership pack that my kids bought me for xmas.

SOS played some fantastic footy in that series.

I see that he has gone to GWS after St Kilda.

Does anybody know if there are any reasons why he is not back at the club. Or is his involvement just restricted to visiting, or does he not even do that.

I remember some difficulties with the old regime around payment stuff. Is that the reason or are there other reasons.

Anyone know? Please no my uncle heard from a milk man related to a water boy's 3rd cousin told me, just some facts if you know them and are permitted to share.

Seems a shame he is not involved with our club.

Something along the lines of him coming forward and giving information to save his own ass when we were being investigated for the salary cap rorts......while others like Fraser brown told the afl to get stuffed.....

So it seems the boys, and rightly so, are pissed off with him...

Didn't Braddles come forward with info too???

It was so long ago now .....

He was in a difficult position, others such a Brownie had no intention to become a coach or spend their future involved with the AFL.

He thought honesty was the best policy.....not sure he should be judged too harshly.

Of course it may have been better for him to keep quiet, but when asked a direct question it is hard to say nothing without sounding guilty, so he was upfront and lost some respect from some at/involved with CFC..........

Lets not forget his massive commitment to the board of one year, was on it for purely selfish reasons

But wouldn't it be the same case with Braddles then with regards to being welcome back at the club? Braddles is back now, why not SOS?

SOS doesn't want to coach. List management is more his go & the opportunity at GWS presented itself at the right time for him.

This may well be true at the present moment, but he certainly wanted to give it a go, as can be seen by his resume.

At any rate he had plans to further his involvement at AFL level, and had differences of opinion with Kernahan et al... isnt the first and wont be the last to not get on with everyone at the club, despite being a legend of the CFC (as of course is Kernahan, Bradley and Ratts)

I was at a BBQ earlier in the year and SOS was there with the kids. One of attendees is a mad collingwood supporter and he was razzing the kids telling them that they had already been signed up with collingwood. They were not pleased. They went running to their dad saying something like ... This can't be true sticks would never let this happen .. Would he. SOS reassured them they were definitely going to Carlton.

Point here is SOS and obviously the family must still have an ok relationship with sticks.

There's only positions for so many ex–Carlton champs in coaching at Carlton.
Great he's making his way elsewhere.
An old and true Carlton champ said at the Christmas table "players always return to their old clubs"
Eventually.

In SOS's last year playing, I asked a gentleman who's known SOS since he was a kid, whether he had any ambition to be a senior coach. ''No bloody way'' was the answer.

I love that there are so many on TC who "know" for a "fact" why SOS is at GWS not Carlton.

Whenever I'm in need of a good laugh, I just read one of those posts.

I'm more concerned that the boys might be moving north with him, wouldn't be good for their footy development
