Sometimes the best parents in the world can produce a troubled kid. Blaming the parents without knowing the background is a bit premature.

I don't think suing her etc is worth it. Just make her destroy the photos and any others she has (still reckon thats a bluff) and get her some help. Whatever the situation the sort of behaviour shes been exhibiting is not what i would regard as normal for someone that age. Parental guidance was never there to begin with and now they've cut her loose completely.

I went to school with a beautiful girl both inside and out who ended up being one of the biggest bikes going around buy the time she was 15 - her parents were wonderful people and you couldnt fault the way they had bought her up to that date.

Yeah, and there are plenty of people who had awful parents and have always been fine.

My main memory of this was Captain Crybaby going on TV to shed a few more tears.

Perhaps the AFL should just tell the players in this day and age there is no privacy.

If her parents have left her and never want to speak to her again then there is no questioning what terrible and awful people her parents are. You stand by your children and help them no matter what. Pathetic, and it gives you a possible reason why this girl acts in such a way. She has been brought up by cold people.

How can you not blame the parents to an extent? Disgraceful.

Agree with most sentiments about the parents situation here.

Some people have terrible parents or one terrible parent but turn out alright, some people have the same situation but turn out a nutcase. Some people have the best of everything from their parents and turn out well, but then some have the same situation and turn out to be trouble.

Who knows, we are hearing a version of events from a proven liar (the 17 year old girl) who could have easily spun it to look like she is the victim of poor parenting. She may have fallen out with her parents over this but she could be exaggerating the whole thing to the media.

Although I agree with TheSwan, if her parents really have washed their hands of her at a time like this then it does them no favours of how they are viewed as parents. I'm sure a lot of us here have [REDACTED] up in the past and our parent(s) have been there for us.

she was 16 and met these guys while they were doing a professional job at her school. not good enough.

According to who? A 17 year old with a history of dishonest and inappropriate behaviour. I wouldn't be making such rash judgements on the facts without gaining further confirmation.

Is it ok for parents to disown a child because of their rash and dishonest behavior? please. She is just a kid. You do not leave your child by themselves no matter what. End of story. Weak.

However, the more I think about it the more I believe it is all a ploy from her lawyers. This girl is hasn't a cent to her name now. They probably asked her parents to do this for the time being anyway.

She has been suppressed from releasing images from Gilberts computer. If she has her own then can can do what she wants with them.

What if she's got other people's images, but not Gilbert's?

I don't know why, but I just can't see this sticking to St Kilda. Regardless of the truth, they've had a history of players names being linked to questionable actions yet they seem to get a light run in the press.

Highly unlikely, juveniles these days get away with everything, a recent case in which a 16 year old bashed another teen to within death, left him with permanent brain damage, the reasons behind it were simply 'I was bored", he got 12 months good behavior, no community service, nothing.......... She is only 17, the way courts are run these days she will probably have nothing to worry about......
