I think JohnM is on the money. Great to have these kids at the club and really hope they are all stars. We are really due for a national draft where we turn up more than a couple of players. But at this stage they are just names. Be great if one or two were stars and the others solid citizens in the firsts, history suggests that is wildly optimistic, but hope it happens and in a few years we will know.

Brown, Roo, Franklin and Pav are really the only elite KPF's going around and only a couple of elite FPD's.
These guys just have to be good players like Mooney at his best, they dont have to be stars, although 1 star would be nice.
The Pies didnt have 1 elite KPP last year, just a good combination that all played their role.
Elits KFP's havent been a major factor in a GF win for quite a while now.

There's still a rookie draft to come, so I figure we'll be looking at mids and possibly a project ruck - overall our list is starting to show balance in terms of types, depth, skill, grunt, etc. Now for the development, games, team bonding, and a bit of luck with injuries.

I agree a project ruck and an inside mid is a good idea. But does no one think that we are lacking a mid-sized forward? Houla does the job well but is getting older and is a bit injury prone.

Yeah I had forgotten about Collins, though not convinced on Robbo (not that great overhead and terrible decision maker), Yarran is more a small and I want Gibbs in the midfield.

Franklin/Roughhead
Hall/O'Loughlin(not really a tall forward)
Brown/Lynch X3
Hird/Lloyd/Lucas

All from this decade

They were important in getting to the GF but in the GF itself it is more the running brigade/midfielders who had the impact.

id suggest adding Walker to this list as well. if he can keep the form he did playing in the final against sydney, he could be a real asset to our forward line.

Reckon we did all right, given the compromised dratf, if one turns into a star then its a win.

I know Wayne is not totally in charge of managing the list but I was looking through the drafts and trades we have had since the sanctions ended in 2004 - Between 2004 to 2008 we have drafted and traded in 51 players

there are only 13 left on the list a 1 in 4 strike rate - I dont know how this compares but it doesnt appear to that crash hot and wonderful

In the 2 years the penalties were imposed we brought in 30 players with only 4 remaining
