This happened to me last night. I'm a fan of WWT Eagles as a mate played for them for the last two seasons. I decided to dislike Nick Duigan after he slotted the winning goal and buried their Grand Final hopes (kind of how Essendon* supporters must feel about 99) and I was pretty passionate about them having a crack at a flag.

So now he joins the Blues (when I heard his name read out I loudly said WTF?).

Hearing him on SEN this morning and I quite like his attitude and well spoken nature.

But only weeks ago I couldn't stand him based on blind supporter one eye-ism.

Naturally I'll support him and hope he does the same thing against someone like Essendon* or Collingwood. But for now, the dilemma...

Has this happened to anyone else?

On a similar theory as a Port supporter growing up in SA the only time it was even worth stopping to really hate, and I mean really hate, Kernahan was when he played for South Australia. Funny how things change.

Conversely, Peter Motley was always a favourite of mine even though he played for Sturt.

There's only one player I would never welcome to Carlton. :sly:

Lets hope he can do the same next year in a final!

On the subject of disliking players every year there is at least one player on our list I dislike. Mansfield, Davies, Maclaren, Ackland, Johnson etc. This year however, I am finding it difficult to dislike any player on our list.

McGuane... *angry shiver*. I'd almost removed that blip from memory.

Every time they show the replay of his run down the wing the bounce count seems to get higher and higher. What is it now, 13?

Yeah I despised Rys-Jones and Williams while they were playing for the swans ... then instantly fell in love with them when they joined the Blues.

In the end I realised it was just plain envy that they were playing for a shite club instead of the mighty Blues.

Both are still part of my all time favourite playing list.

Yeah, didn't really like Rhys or Diesel either.

I was a big fan of the Hyphen by the time he finished up. I warmed to Diesel a little bit as a player, but not really a huge fan. He was a bloody good footballer, though, and that I can respect.

Mick McGuane - still hated him even after he came to Carlton
I was still a kid backthen, but I remeber a lot of people hating Greg Williams' guts when he played at Sydney, but all being quickly forgiven when started gunning it for us from the word go. I wonder how Rhys felt having the bloke who broke his jaw as a team mate ? ...

You'd be happy having Darren Milburn in our backline then ?

His name did past my mind but then I thought about that poor bastard and how much he gave to our club when we were at our lowest point. He was our best defender for a long time. I think he deserves respect for that.

+1

Agreed. He gets a pretty rough deal under the circumstances IMO.

Yeah..I heard that interview....thought he overthought it....maybe being a psychologist and all...and in comparison to Isaac Smith..who was sooo natural.(darn..I'm gonna need counselling to get over Hawks getting him....but..I digress)
err...yeah..all the time...I change about whole teams as well as players.
Never ceases to amaze me how fickle I can get season to season.
For eg. Zac Dawson...couldn't stand the sight of him for 2 seasons..then.re watching Saints V Blues where we thrashed 'em on a Monday nite..I suddenly thought...aww he's just a kid..he's not so bad.
Another one...Nick Maxwell.......still waiting there...
and John Anthony....yeah...can't see changing...so relieved we didn't get him.

I didn't like the recruitment of Lappin because he was a lad at St Kilda and we burnt a lot of picks on retreads.

Rapt that he proved me wrong.

It's hard to describe how much I detested Greg Williams when he played for the Swans.
It's even harder to describe how much I loved him when he came to us. i swear I'd have shot Denham in the street if I'd seen him after the 93 GF.

I live in Perth and Perth was Juddtown when he was at the WCE. I cheered loudly when Juddy got rubbed out for 6 weeks for elbowing Baker in the face when he was at WCE.

Now I revere him as a god who walks amongst us, and had similar feelings towards McPhee as I did with Denham, when he was playing the man last year on Judd.

Hated Mark Harvey when he played... Hate the pr*ck even more now... Him and that fake tough guy look he puts on in front of the media.....

P*ssed myself laughing a few years ago when he was grilled on Ón The Couch...
Best part was when he was asked 'Whats Fremantle Football Club stand for Mark ?' and he replied patetically something to the effect of 'A successful football club... with culture....'

TWIT!!!!
