Just wanted to let the oldtime supporters know of the sad passing of Kath Byer early this week at the age of 94.Kath was the owner of the Notting Hill Hotel. The Notting Hill Hotel was the place to be seen by Carlton players and supporters alike after games at the now defunct Waverley Park.Kath was a very generous contributor to the CFC in those days and was renowed for her generosity to all CFC folk. Her brother, the late Keith Shea, played for the Blues.Anybody who met Kath new you were in the precense of a very fine and charming woman.................
On behalf of all the TC folk would like to extend our deepest sympathies to the Byer family.RIP.

As a Monash Uni student in the 70's and 80's this was my watering hole.

I didn't know it was a Carlton watering hole till I met her just 3 years ago.
She was Stevo's sponsor and he was her love child. Yep, Stevens made her proud.

RIP Great Carlton Lady.

RIP to a great Carlton supporter.

Always sad to hear about people passing, but she had a good innings. Thumbs up to Kath.

RIP

I work around the corner from The Nott and have lunch there at least once a week, she was a nice lady and a great Carlton supporter.

Vale a great lady. Condolences to the Shea family and to her second family of denizens of the Nott. From my days as a little tacker when I called her "Aunty Kath" to her recognising me after about 25 years (mind you I do look at lot like my father - last time I was at the Nott Kath's nephew Paul recognised me and I hadn't seen him in at least that long), I have nothing but fond memories of a true lady and a true Bluebagger.

By the by her brother Keith Shea was by all accounts a champion player - his record certainly shows it.
