Coach: Who else but Denis Pagan!!!
Had to start with these two. Not including McKernan because regardless of what I think of him, he did play in two flags and should've won a Brownlow. So he's not a classic Coodabeen. Marchesani and Collins are exactly what the term was coined for.
Feel free to add, and I'll edit this post with good additions.
(By Coodabeen, I mean someone who has great wraps on them, the great white hope, and they look better than they really are!!! In fact they're really duds. McKernan wasn't really a dud. Chris Johnson, et al, never really looked any good and no-one thought they'd be really good).
Edits
1. Just added the coach!
Denis Collins wasn't a dud
Name a big game with lots of pressure and close checking, in which he played well!!!!
Starred against the bottom runged teams, but after we played Norf (first vs second) and Jezza wanted to see "who dropped their heads and who went into their shells", Dennis was history. Michael Young and Peter Francis, while not being as silky and flashy and fashionable took over the wing positions and the rest actually IS history.
Now I'd love to see another thread called "Great players that Wes Lofts let go". We all know who's at the top of that list!!!!! (And it ain't Dennis Collins, I'll give ya the tip!).
