Well we have 57 players in our best 22 which makes us very hard to match up against.

Great. So now Ratten will get the blame for the 35 blokes not getting a game every week.

Doesnt GC have the bye in the first round, followed by Richmond as their first game? I thought I read that somewhere...

Richmond agreed to sell a home game to play the GC in Cairns, they are also playing Brisbane in Brisbane, so the AFL decided against sending them to play in QLD 3 times in the season. Hence, we're playing them in their first game instead.

Talk about some people getting ahead of themselves.... If the take their eyes off the prize, we could end up dropping both games...

We will smash Richmond and the Gold Coast to replicate our early season 2009 form.

Richmond will have to be wondering what the AFL has against them if the Blues are playing them in Rd 1...again.
Draw comes out 29/10?

As for the GC? Should be a 2-0 start and hello top of the ladder on percentage.

Still, the love of your life can be the greatest heartache.

Easy...two big drawing rival clubs to kick off the start of the AFL season means more $$$ for the League.

Season opener should be Collingwood vs Carlton.

Massive crowd (bigger than Blues v Tigers), and probably our best shot at beating them, as they'll be underdone :)

But I'm tipping Carlton will neither play in the season opener this year nor against Richmond.

Good. Then we can wipe their backsides with it!

And then I can ram it down Joffas neck.

We must beat Collingwood at least once next year.

And flog the Bombers both times.

And finally beat Hawthorn.

Change the subject of this thread to Potential 3-0 start.

Richmond
Gold Coast
Collingwood (underdone and big headed)

Win-Win-Win

:)

They will most likely wait to Round 3 to unfurl the flag too. They have Port first up and that is likely to be at Etihad. Gets one of their two games there out of the way, expect another 7-10 games in a row at the G for them.

Fixture's out

http://www.afl.com.au/portals/0/afl_doc ... cument.pdf

We play the Filth, Bummers, Tigers, Dees, Saints and Swans twice

Interstate trips to play the Suns, Swans, Power and Freo which are nicely spread out I think, although we go interstate twice in the first 6 weeks.

bye in Round 8 and 23

9 games at the G, 9 at Jihad.

Don't play Hawthorn until Rd 22 which is odd.

First and last games of the year are home games :D

First impression, we have done ok out this draw. In saying that there are no easy games in the AFL anymore. If you are not switched on you lose as evident in our second half of the year for 2010.

Sydney at the SCG on a Friday night is a very difficult proposition. Why aren't we considered a big enough club to play ANZ??

Melbourne at MCG on a Friday is another tricky game ala Kangaroos this year. It's a mini-final for them being Friday night.

Overall a pretty friendly draw.

Queue the "Collingwood has an armchair ride next year" comments, which pop up every year regardless of if they have a good draw or not...

Better draw than last year. Happy with the Round 8 bye (wife's birthday) and the Round 23 bye before the Saints in Round 24...a good way to enter the finals.
