Assuming Rd 1 v Richmond continues we now are locked in to play Gold Coast Rd 2. Hopefully we can win both of these and get an early chance to tackle our issue of 2010, winning 3 in a row!

i can distinctly remember similar posts/threads last pre-season, noting our tough start followed by an easy run of 5-6 wins pencilled in. I really think we should settle down, take it 1 game at a time. The ones we were supposed to win were the one's that we lost miserably.

3 wins in a row has been a problem for 6-7 years, not just 2010. Lets tackle richmond with a full squad and a full head of steam, put them to rest, then, and only then should we look forward

Round 2 and playing interstate in sweaty QLD again! Bet the Filth don't set foot over the border until Round 10.

Since the Eagles and Bears joined the comp, new teams have had a good record in their first game. I am not happy that we are playing GC in their debut game.

There should be some cause for concern I think...

Being the team to play GC in their first ever game means we will be totally blind to their game plan/style of play.

They would be mightily pumped up...

In saying that, Carlton by 47pts and AJ to blanket GAJ.

If it happens, it should be very interesting to see the impact of Joseph on Ablett now that he isn't supported by those heavyweights at the Cats. Has the ability to shut him down completely.

People will never learn.
Richmond will be a much, much better side next year. They showed what they are capable of late in the season and will not be the easy-beats of the past. Bookmark it if you like. This will be a close contest and even though I expect a win, I also expect it to be a tough win first up.
Playing GC first up away .... people think will be an easy victory. :screwy:
We potentially could be sitting 0-2!
Yep and I am usually more positive when it comes to pre-match analysis.

Rumour over on the Collingwood bigfooty board (I know) about draw leaks reckons their first home game of the year is against us in Round 3 (they play away in Round 1, then Round 2 bye) where they will unfurl the flag.

Good. Then we can wipe their backsides with it!

Pleased if that's true, we have a good record as the party pooper whenever our rivals are celebrating something.
