Barker has been signed.

http://www.carltonfc.com.au/news/newsar ... fault.aspx

That's all senior spots filled, only the Ants coach to come.

Ratts signed him so that TC would have at least one other coaching whipping boy

Give it to Wiggins so TC's happy campers can say we avoided due diligence.

Well it does meet my criteria that the forwards coach have a clue about contested marking.

Looks like Riley has been demoted to the midfield line coach, although that's still 3rd in command if you ask me.

This next appointment is the most crucial if you ask me; we need someone who can have our younger charges playing our brand of footy at VFL level.

EDIT: Corrected

Good.

Let's get this show on the road.

Bullants coach? Don't know, a recently retired former quality footballer from a succesful club would be my criteria.

I don't know Wiggins from a hole in the ground but his coaching mentors and football experience would have to be some of the worst of any player in the last 40 years.

Would prefer a Lockyer from the 'pies. He's been in a high performance environment for a decade.

Lockyer has just signed as the Pies VFL coach.

My Dawks mate reckons he was very ordinary there, and blames him for most of their Fwd line structural problems the last two years

Hope he's wrong

I thought the same about lappin but he's impressed the :Pies enough to give him a job.

I'm happy to give him a chance but I'm not feeling overjoyed.

But I thought only non-Carlton people were decent coaches

I am happy with the appointments. Positive moves.

Interesting to note that they all have more coaching experience than Ratten!

Now here's a question... What is a better coaching team? Laidley/ Richardson/ Brown/ Reilly/ Barker OR Ratten/Richardson/ Brown/ Reilly/ Barker.

Can't tell if it's the wagons or the indians circling.

Barassi/Matthews/Jeans/Malthouse/Coleman

From what I understand, Ratten was given the choice to work with either Laidley or Barker and he went Barker...

Haha good stuff.

I wonder if the Cats will take on Laidley or if the Pies take him back.

I dont think he is that much chop and his stocks keep dropping year after year.

Ratts probably thought he couldnt work with him. Wouldnt be the first id say.
