Has anyone thought that Brown may have left Collingwood because of Buckley getting the position in 2012 ???

Defence coach by the sounds of it. IMO we dodged a bullet there, but he may come good in time.

Thank you for your services David, you are obviously a good leader of men.

i think this is a win-win scenario. For David's development not sure staying at Carlton would have been as good as going elsewhere. Also don't think he would have added to anything that Ratts was doing. Good luck to David - I hope he continues to develop as a coach.

Ratten could be emerging as a manger of coaches. He phoned Rowdy to set it up.

It's already started. i got a text from a Filth mate. "Did you get Rowdy to coach or play?"

My reply - "Just to shit you"

I'd say so, given that Brown has said as much himself in at least two radio interviews today.

I wish Teaguey well. Good player for the club, and getting the Bullants to Grand Finals is no small feat. Particularly as very few seem to rate him as a coach.

Ratts said on CFCTV that we should appoint a new Bullants coach before the end of the week

Why can't we appoint gun coaches like the Pies do? Lappin used to play for us, he'll come won't he?

I reckon Gavin Brown will enjoy the huge challenge to beat the Roman Box style of defense Collingwood has used so effectively this year.
That'll put him on the map for a senior coach role moreso than hanging around Buckley till 2015.

I'm so glad we got him especially because he comes from the reigning premier who also have a very young team like us.

Add Alan Richardson to the mix who was the development coach for many of the kids at the Magpies at their footy academy, and I believe we've got the right 2 coaches on board to give us the edge and improvement we need to make a top 4 spot a reality; perhaps challenge Collingwood.

That's where we've definetely won in the trade period.

I wonder what will happen to Dean Laidley.
I'm not sure we need him now we have Richardson as the tactical coach.

Is Richardson a leading tactician or a leading developer of players? Would be unusual if one man were exceptional in both areas, and more unusual if that man couldn't get a senior gig.

Very different situations.

We had a severe deficiency when it came to coaching heavyweights and a senior coach who's personality is not a dominant one. It makes sense to bring in strong characters who set high standards.

The 'pies have more roosters than Inghams. It's a god damn ego fest down there. Malty, Bucks, Watters all think they know everything there is to know about footy already, not to mention the Pres who believes he knows everything about everything. They want guys who aren't going to rock the boat, they want them to sit in the corner and do as they are told. Enter M Lappin.

As for Teague going to the Eagles, he's on a hiding to nothing. Woosha is likely to get the axe or stand down this year, so he'll more than likley be a victim of a review at the end of the year.

If Woosha keeps his job it's worse because they sack his assistants every year (except Sumich) to take the heat of him.
