Agree with Danny....if we take chances....that's our only hope....

We play four quarters of football.

Sorry........... not being negative,........................ Just saying what i think we need to do (and it's something we have failed to do all year).

We play 4 quarters of football, and we are in with a MASSIVE chance.

YES.

It's about time we rained on someone else's parade, the sentiment and adulation over Roos/Kirk this weekend will be ridiculous.

I am so friggin sick of the complete lack of respect from the footy world.

Just look at this article from Mike Sheahan yesterday in the Hun where he talks about the finalists.
http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/m ... 5911616370
Does not even MENTION Carlton and instead talks about Melbourne and North :screwy:

Almost no one even thought we'd make the finals this year, and now that we have they're just ignoring us or writing us off as "making up numbers". Pfft cause I'm sure Fremantle are going to go far this year.

We will win if we each player approaches the first contest they face, harder than any contest they have committed to before. Then their second contest, they go in harder.

Also Gibbs and Yarran.

I hope they lose a player early. Knelly would be good and not totally out of the question.
I hope we can stick with them for the first 2 - 3 quarters and then with our younger legs run all over them in the last.

Men v Boys. Lets hope we can pull off one of the great carlton wins.

Roos and Kirk have toyed with us for years. It would be great if we could get the last laugh.

Go Blues !

We'll win because Ross is channelling in the fortunes from yesteryear, via telepathic means, to his son, Bryce.

"Bryce my son....it is the year of the Tiger, there was a previous time also when it was the year of the Tiger, Glenelg won the flag that year which I was part of."

"I am channelling in the message that it is the year again. You are a Tiger, first and foremost. Hunt down that flower Kirk, and that flower Goodes, and any other flower who is wearing Red & White. Remember Bryce. Red & White is the colour of North Adelaide, and we HATE those flowers too."

"Also remember son, don't forget to pack the comb in the socks. Always keep the 'tache tidy and the hair neat"

Smash 'em Blues ! Carlton by 38 points.

Because Gibbs and Murphy are sick of being called B Graders who are good, but not great...and they know that Finals are the place to make a public leap upwards.

Because Waitey is gonna do it for his old man, and to prove to himself that he belongs 'with all the champions'...past present and future.

Because we all want them to stick it right up EVERYONE who thinks we are making up the numbers.

Ha!!

The space at Olympic Park will allow us, if we are smart, to spread and stretch their defence and make space for our crumbers. Our defensive have to work to together to counter the options on the rebound of Shaw and Kennelly and mids run back hard when needed to block the corridor :i.e Murphy.
If Mumford doesn't play [fit] they will struggle at their 'numerous' stoppages.
With Richards, Mattner, Shaw and Kennedy you gotta hand it to Roosy making sugar out of shit.
Vossy take notes :donk:
Blues by 27 points.

1. Slam a Swans player to the ground at every opportunity when tackling
2. Robbo rides shotgun with Judd all day. Harasses Judd's opponent into submission, then finds his own and does the same
3. Gut run both ways. leave nothing on the ground except your own vomit at the end of the game
4. Kick long all day, bring the ball to the ground and then swoop on it......soccer it off the ground if you have to....just get metres and bring the ball as quickly as possible inside 25m. From that point onwards, anything can happen
5. Yarran and Betts.......you've both done sweet fa for a while. Psychotic pressure inside 50 (will complement point #4 above)
6. Walker on Kennelly, swap with Robbo for a while then Tex to the goalsquare to kick a matchwinning 2-3 goals. FFS Mix it up. Have Plans A, B, C and D ready. Confuse those flowering 'see you next tuesdays'
7. If points 1 - 6 fail, I hope Ratten's gameplan works

I like it.

Sounds like Gibbs is going to go to Goodes again. And while I have no doubt Gibbs can control Goodes, I hope we're proactively thinking how we can win this game, beyond simply limiting Goodes' effectiveness.

I want to see Jacobs really use his size, Mumford-style, and apply a lot of body on the opposition ruckmen, and on the opposition onballers. I want to see what tactic we're going to use to control McVeigh when he runs hard off Judd. And likewise with Jack when he runs off Murph. Obviously our midfielders need to take their turn at defence. But I don't want our 3 best attacking weapons in Gibbbs, Judd and Murphy being dictated to by Roos.

Isn't that what we tried last time? And then Goodes went into the midfield and got himself free.

Bring back Prendergast, I say!

Eddie will kick 5. 4 of them in the last quarter to finish it off.
