THe surface at ANZ is also known for being spongy and slow.

You would think it would suit them but it doesnt seem to judging by results this year. Although their 3 losses there this year were to Geelong Collingwood and StKilda.

Not true.

MCG is 160 x 141m
Etihad is 159 x 128m
ANZ is 160m x 120m, so very narrow.

According to AFL site...

ANZ Stadium
Capacity: 81,500
Ground dimensions: 159.5m x 128.8m

Etihad Stadium
Capacity: 53,355
Ground dimensions: 159.5m x 128.8m

best possible outcome for us after the loss last night. this is the game we're most likely to win as opposed to playing the hawks or the dockers. i got a good feeling about it. it's about time we spoiled a party (kirk & roos).

For the first three quarters on Friday we were outplayed by a very inexperienced Freeo. Bower is totally out of form. Davies has done well but we need more run down back. Jamo is purely defensive and gives us no attack. AJ gets caught when he tries to break the lines and has dodgy disposal. TBird has been disappointing but he has been dominating for the Ants so I would give him a game. I'd bring back Walker. He offers some flexibility. No point swapping Jacobs and Hammer, tho Hammer was ordinary he gives us some sort of forward target. Eddie is ordinary, maybe he is carrying an injury. Yarran had little impact, but there is not much in the 2s. If Mumford doesn't play or is limited we should have a ruck advantage, tho Mike Pyke is more effective than he is given credit for and can tackle like a rugby player. No idea who to play on Goodes. He is a Kouta -esque player and if he is up and going not sure if anyone can stop him.

The Swans are battlers coached by a genius. I really think we should win this one, but I was sure we would beat Freeo and we didn't turn up until 3/4 time. I'd like to see some innovation from the coaching staff. Be an interesting game, and in a way our loss hasn't hiurt as we would have had to play the Hawks (I think) if we'd won. If we don't win it will have been a desperately disappointing second half of the season. If we win we get to play the Bullies in Melb - we could sneak into a prelim.

Can we please not be arrogant and assume playing an injury Dogs is going to be an easy win.

No game will be easy so let's keep a lid on it.

Will be there.

Of course.

GO BLUES!

We have to get off to a fast start to silence the crowd. Our starts apart from this weekend have been poor.

We haven't won in Sydney since 1993, when Tim Powell debuted and Brendan parker finished up!

Our record against this mob is crap.... We will have to play our very best to beat them... Won't be an easy game, Swans will choke the living crap out of us, going to be hard to score when they just flood back.

OUT: Carrazzo Davies
IN: Hadley Thornton

Some ideas:
- With Carrots missing send Ellard into the midfield tagging role
- Thornton to be brought back for a stopping role, take the pressure off the out of form Bower. Davies unlucky but to be realistic he isn't quite there yet for finals football
- Hadley & Grigg to smash the clearances for us
- Waite and Henderson NOT to be thrown back as soon as Sydney kick a couple goals
- Warnock main ruck, Hammer rotating forward but remember even w/o Mumford Pike is becoming a very good player and needs to be run into the ground

There were periods in the first half we outplayed them. We were in front at quarter time. They were better than us in the second and third and we were way better than them in the last.
In the end they were a goal better over the night.

Yep its going to be a tough low scoring game. They will strangle us. I am not sure we will have the muscle to match it with them but we can only do our best. Lets hope that is enough.

The key to winning this game will be fast ball movement. Last time we played them we moved the ball much too slow, and it allowed the Swans to flood numbers back and strangle our forward line. Fastest possible team should be selected for this week.

Well I remember when I was young, the world had just begun and I was happy.

I remember that day as if it were just yesterday.

Keep a lid on it...........................that's for the players, not me!!!
I'll enjoy the ride till we lose (should be about round 12, 2011).

I have a good feeling about this. Reminds me of what happened to Brisbane in 2009.
Loss to the Blues twice during the year and won in the elimination final.
Loss against Sydney at Blacktown and Etihad, and then in the finals.....a close win to stick it right up Roosy & Kirk (the choir boys).

Can't wait till Sunday afternoon....should be a beautiful day for fast footy.

 You guessed it, I'll be there with a Navy Blue leg in the air.
It's finals time. Yippee.

I am a loud person, and a bit :screwy: when I'm watching the Blues.
I have a voice that will be heard across the ground.

I can't wait to @#$%&! the Swans.That's because I'm a bird lover.

And if there's any Carlton fans who start hanging shit on their own...watch out...missile will head their way.

I'll be the one with a Dark Navy Blue jumper on, with the following printed on the back:

Bondi Beach
is
Navy Blue
