It doesn't help that Bower and Jamison keep grabbing onto the player, or pushing the player, or anything else you can possibly think of that is stupid to do in front of goal.

Also, Davis is inexperienced and therefore will give away free kicks. The other 2 should know better.

It's not always the umpire's fault. Although most of the time it is :smoking:

Conspiracy theory thread....watch the game again and you'll realise the umpires had nothing to do with it....

There were some iffy non decisions tonight.

Sandilands appears to be able to do pretty much whatever he wants in the ruck (maul, grapple, sling) and get away with it.

The weirdest one for me was when Betts lead out to the pocket in the 3rd, was pushed/chopped over the line by McPharlin and it was just a throw in. I don't know if anyone else noticed that one...

Just back from Subi and it wasn't so much the free's we gave away - it was the ones we didn't get - soul destroying and just seemed to get more and more blatent with each miss.

Freo supporter sitting behind us even said they got away with some rippers tonight

What sucks even more is that only in the last qtr did we start to get a few iffy ones go our way (only up until we got within stirking distance though) so that the count evened up a bit and that when we complain these twats can say "The count was 24-21" or whatever the @#$%&! it turned out to be

I lost my shit at that one.

If you check the match thread the free kicks were something like 18-8 at one stage in the third quarter. The soft ones fell our way when it didn't matter.

Thought we copped the rough end of the stick, but you wouldn't know it sometimes listening to the Freo crowd. Can someone tell me, what is it with Perth footy crowds? Play the Dockers or the Eagles and the crowd spends 80% of the game booing for some free kick not being paid to them that wasn't there in the first place. Do they really not know the rules in Perth, or are they just that parochial?

I think in light of performances across the whole season, games involving Carlton and not, the standard of umpiring is something that the AFL seriously need to address.

It's been in decline for some years and far too many matches this year have descended into farce. Umpires should not be noticed. They should not guess and they should be consistent. Unfortunately they're being noticed, they are guessing far too often and they're seldom consistent.

Because of the protection afforded to them by the AFL, their immunity when it comes to criticism, they've been allowed to regress to the state they are in now.

The Three Amigos (Demetriou, Gieschen and Anderson) are to blame for this.

I had the commentary off for most of the game (useless cauliflower were too busy creaming their dacks over Hill sprinting for 12 feet and then shanking a kick to pay attention to the rest of the game) but I turned it back on in the last. I am positive they said that Sandilands had 8 free kicks up till that moment. That is just retarded.

I sent a mate a message at half time along the lines of " I can't wait to hear this anchor wanker bandwagon crowd once the maggots decide to even up the kicks in the second half'. Which they proceeded to do. Bunch of accountant cauliflower.

Spot on. Watching live, the man cheats at every ruck contest.

Yes they are.

It's also the same in Adelaide, and when when non-Victorian teams play in Victoria.

Consistency is my major bugbear.

I can handle rules being called a certain way, as long as it's fair, and equal for everyone.

Notice it??

Nearly jumped through the TV!

The commentators made no mention of it and no replay was shown for confirmation!
