He still has many contacts in the game and he suggested that the Blues are in the race for Rischiatelli. Although the rumours are that he is going to the GC there is still a big chance he could return to Melbourne. He is a definite to finish top 3 in their B&F this year.

He also suggested that Sandilands may be out for the year with a foot injury. This may come in handy for Friday night !!

Why would he want to come back to Melbourne all of a sudden?

Because he is pissed off with the Lions ??? He wanted to go to the GC, but they are now more interested in Brennan than him, so he may come back down to Melbourne (or so the rumours go)

My impression was that for personal reasons he wanted to stay up north or as THIRIODIS said he is whipped

He didn't want to come last year (which I am thankful for). I am so much happier (then as well as) now with Hendo and Lucas as oppsed to Bradshaw and Risk.

I have no doubt he would be in our best 22, but why would he want to come now when he didn't 12 months ago?

Sounds a little selective and indecisive and on that basis I think we should waste little time on him now.

Whilst I don't think that we are complete in the midfield area, it's less of a glaring issue than talls down back. That's first cab for me.

My thoughts. Rischitelli thought we would be shit without Fev and he had a big chance to win a Premiership with Fev and Brown. Reality then set in

One paper reported we dropped him off for his medical and didn't bother to pick him up as agreed.
He was left stranded and had to ring his mgr to get him.

My thoughts. Rischitelli thought if he refused the trade it wouldn't get done. But it did, and now he's stuck in Brisbane with Fev.

Don't want him. We are no good at trading because we are not good at evaluating talent.

IIRC, another reason he didn't want to come down, was he'd just built a new house in Qld and didn't want to walk way from that.

But he has held it for a year now....so no capital gains tax (even though the 1 year period is just a common misconception)

So from the sound of that it doesn't seem that Ratts would consider using Harvey's tactic against him. The idea being that we give half a dozen or so of our best 22 a rest this game so that they're fresh for the return trip.

Or we could play our best team and if we beat them we don't have to make a return trip

But then if Hawthorn beat Collingwood, which is a chance given the filth have nothing to play for, we'd end up playing them anyway. I'd rather play Freo at Subi than the poos and wees at the G.

It's all guesswork though and "what if's". Safest bet is to take your best 22 and do all you can to win the game and let the rest of the cards fall where they will.

I don't think I'd be taking it easy if I was a Collingwood player - there's a lot of good players in the reserves busting their guts to get into a potential premiership team.

Nah I think Collingwood will go all out after nearly getting beaten by Adelaide last week.
