A few positives to take out of tonights game

Hendo was very good and led well all night, needs to have a shot more often rather than go for the pass off, absolute dead eye dick tonight.

Gibbs was beaten early but managed to win his one on ones in the end I thought, his disposal would've been above 80% efficiency too.

Murphy played really well too, missed a few at ground level but was pretty solid all night. Spewing we couldn't give him a win for his 100th.

Tonight showed that we really need a big bodied defender more than anything. Bower and Jamo were out bodied far too easily tonight.

Shattered

The desire was there for the most part but the Cats were a level above us but having said that it was really Ablett who took the game by the scruff of the neck when Thompson moved him forward....it was a match winning move he was too quick for Carazzo at the stop plays up forward and we probably should have gone with someone quicker...no match winning moves from our side....thought Bower was a liability down back and would have liked to see him moved up the field and maybe Waite back....but in the end its all about next week as far as a home final goes....

When Henderson becomes fit enough for four quarters watch out! How good is the trade looking?

We lost that game with 2 mins to go in the third, to let the cats get two late goals took all our momentum away. Mind you, missing all those shots on goal in that quarter didn't help.

Disposal by foot is still not good enough. #44, #16, #1 major offenders. Killing all the really good work by just giving the ball away.

I understand him.

Anyway......
Thought armfield was good tonight.

Ditto Henderson and Murphy and warnock.

Garlett played like a hero that he isn't.

In the last qtr, we pushed up ground way too much. Shits me why we do this. Hendo and Waite were almost in defence they were so far from goal.

Dissposal accross the entire team was shit. Judd included.

Walker was god awful. WTF was he thinking blocking simpsons shot inside 50???

Wasn't impressed tonight. A loss I can handle, but that was just lazy football!

All things considered, there are some positives to take out of tonight. The cats were simply a level above us and are really gearing up for September.

We simply carry too many passengers and I would expect us to give a better account of ourselves with our strongest team. Sad to say but Hadley gives us nothing. Betts and Garlett both had shockers. As mentioned before, Bower and Jamo need to develop body strength as they were too easily outmuscled tonight.

They tried and for that I cant criticise. I just hope they learn frrom tonight because the cats showed us what it takes to be the best

Disappointing but that is about our level at the moment I reckon. Garlett was extremely disappointing for a bloke who has been in our best six in the last month. Been reading his own press I reckon.

Garlett kicked poorly tonight - shit happens, but th crap he is copping - for @#$%&!'s sake - how many games has he played? I thought he showed some flashes in the midfield tonight and I'd add him to Yazz as two we need to get miles into the legs of (ahh beautiful sentence that)

Hendo is growing - @#$%&! Voss is a dick!

Warnock is a beauty - just needs miles and miles of games. In 2, 3 years he may just be the best going around - except for Kruise!

Jacobs did well but I think we are better suited with the Warnock/Hampson combination just for flexibility.

Thought Davies is getting used to the top level.

During that third I thought we were going to overrun them but we missed chances and then they kicked two easy ones at the end and the chance was gone.

Oh well, as long as all the players pull up fine, next week is the big test.

I would be bringing Yaz back and hopefully Hammer can recover from his ankle injury.

Go BLUES!!

Geez you're a @#$%&! bore.

What match winning moves would you have made if you were coach?

None of your crap and deflection. Lets see some answers.

You mentioned Bower moving up the field and Waite going back.

Tell us your top 5 moves you'd have made to win the match.

I've heard a little snippet. A few of the more scissor adroit Geelong players got the job of cutting and posting the Garlett press to Jeff.

Smart move.

No need to be harsh on him. I actually kind of aggree with him. We had nobody tonight that even looked like a chance of stepping up and being a match winner.
