I hope you are right ... that Walker comes back in ... think we are going to need the run of this bloke.

On the subject of Ratten's comments ... seems like whatever he does he gets criticism. I for one was very happy to see the HeraldSun (basically the most uninformed rag in Australia) running with that headline.

Ling to miss again, Corey and Taylor to return.

He ran off Hawkins to perfection earlier in the year and gave us much needed dash off the half back, whether he can replicate this remains to be seen. Would you prefer to leave Davies in against a very solid Geelong outfit?

Sauce for Hammer if doesn't pull up.

Joseph sounds a likely starter, If he isn't 100% fit and he's going to tag Ablett, then I prefer he not play at all.

Yaz for Hadley and throw Eddie into the center bounces? seems to be struggling up forward.

Will Houlihan come back in to shut down Enright again? Did a superb job earlier in the year.

i hope I'm not the only one who thinks we must have Haddles..or, Mc.Lean..because it changes us when we have a serious ball grunter in the team.
I'm neither for, or against YAZ coming in this week.H
He is superb when he's up and about..but not instead of Hadley!
I like the idea of Hoops coming back in, and hope he does..but, the team has been playing well together anyway.
My big fear is that Ratts decides to 'limit damage' instead of hunt the ball.
It's been tried..and never works..so hopefully we've learnt from the past.
It would be great to see how we go now when up against it..not to cave in...and if we are getting beaten...to keep up the tackling and pressure anyway...just to really try and see how good we can be.
i can't shake the feeling we might win...no matter how irrational that feeling is.
Ah well.

Remember how many people said that about the Pies game though?

I agree with you though - we need the grunt player like Hadley or McLean so hopefully Hadley is good to go.

Re: what Ratten said...I've long stopped trying to read too much into what he says!

Corey and Taylor back will massively strengthen their defence.

I honestly cannot see us getting over the line in this one.

I just hope the application is there. we need to be atleast competitive. I'm bracing myself for a 6-9 goal loss to be honest.

I hope we go in hard and with intent.

I dont mind still having davies in the team. I reckon he has something.

To win this game we must dominate the midfield (seems impossible). Our midfielders must carry the ball into the 50 m and not just bomb it long. Half Forward is our biggest weakness ... They will out mark us all day. We have to play the game on our terms. We have to make good decisions and we have to be accurate. Russell is a good player ... BUT ... HE MUST NOT take the kick-ins. Gibbs has to knock it up a notch. Walker must play ... he needs to run out of defence as he did early in the season. Ablett must be controlled ... not sure whether Joseph can do this. If Ling does not play ... that will help ... because he does a good job on Judd. We need to tackle them crazy. Most of all we need to RUN RUN RUN.

Not feeling confident!

I agree, I would like to see Walker back for this one. I don't know who to drop (Davies?) but we really need his physicality and attack on the footy. He would be itching to get back into the team and prove that he should not have been dropped to begin with. Last time we played them he did a great job on Hawkins before getting injured and really set up the win. This time it seems Hawkins will play more in the ruck so I think Walker should get Pods and try to exploit his lack of running ability - like he did Hawkins.

That leaves Jamo on Mooooooney and Russell on Johnson. Armfield on Byrnes and Ellard on Stokes. Carrazzo could get the job on Chapman and of course Joseph on Ablett (Joseph owes him one after Ablett broke his shackles last game).

Robinson on Enright would be a beauty. I don't think Enright likes close checking of the annoying variety.

I expect Scarlett to play on Waite and Taylor on Henderson. I highly doubt Lonergan AND Taylor will play as they don't want to make the same mistake of going in too top heavy against us.

Lonergan still recovering from the virus that saw him miss last week so I would think he will probably miss again as there's no great need to rush him back.

I was under the impression Hadley had a hip problem? If he's 100% then by all means he should stay in the team. I still think Yarran should come in to try and exploit the fact that Geelong struggle with small forwards.

Hunting the ball and using speed to run and carry buried the Cats last time, not to mention our intense pressure. I suspect Ratts to go with this again.

Davies should probably be spared the physical battering, but I wouldn't particularly want to see Walker replacing him. Would enjoy seeing Walks get involved with the midfield play, but I wonder who to drop for him. Assuming injury doesn't pave a way for him, Carrazzo actually presents as the best solution despite his steadily improving disposal over the last fortnight.

At a gamble:

OUT: Carrazzo, Davies
IN: Walker, Thornton

We need insurance against the resting ruck.

Has Carrazzo really been so bad? I mean really, i recon he's become the new whipping boy just because thorntons out and Russell's improved.

I recon he's been pretty solid this year, yes i do notice him stop starting a bit and some errant kicks, but he's done some nice defensive jobs, is pretty good in contested situations and linking up with handballs and he's a pretty good kick for goal too. Not to mention he seems to bring some leadership and energy. Despite what you guys say on here its pretty clear he's not gonna be dropped anytime soon...

For all of the above reasons, he'd be one of the first picked each week.

It always amuses me when people predict that he'll be dropped.

Re:- Carrazzo........ YES! I believe he has been THAT bad to warrant him being dropped.

Look, he's a ball magnet who's never had the silkiest of skills, and I can live with that, but lately he's kick have just been lazy.

There was a moment in the West Coast game late in the 3rd when he kicked around his body when he really didn't need to and it ended up falling straight into a Eagles player who wasn't even expecting it. Henderson was just 5mtrs away all on his own on the wing. It was just the way Carrazzo kicked it though. No urgency in the kick at all. It was how you'd kick the ball to
a mate in the park.........

Since then, I reckon it's been getting worse. And it really pissed me off when he had the arrogence to get into essendons face when he snapped that goal late in the final qtr. After all, just 5-10min before that he kicked a lazy kick to a leading Eddie betts that landed straight into an lone Essendon* player uncontested and barely 15mtrs from him.

Not saying that dropping him to the twos will rectify he's kicking skills, cause it won't, but he does need to drop this laziness he has.

Anyway....... Don't know why were talking about it......... He is NO chance to be dropped!

FWIW can see Hammer, Hadley, AJ and Yarran all participated in training today in the pics uploaded to CFC's facebook.

Krooze and Lucas also on the track!

Hammer and AJ were clearly in the injury group.
