If Joesph misses then i would give Ellard the task of tagging Ablett. Russell has done a great job on Stevie J the past two times and desreves first crack at him.

In Walker Yarran
Out Davies Joesph

Ellard to Bartel.

Army to Ablett.

Robbo to play the defensive role on Enright.

Bower to Mooney.

Jamo to J-Pod?

Russell to Stevie J.

Seems my vaseline joke went well

Was just a bit of humour as I think we'll be up against it this week.

I do hope we take the game on and bring our a grade intensity and work rate. Do that, and we'll give ourselves a chance.

The Cats were mighty impressive last night and I don't fancy they'll want to lose to us 3 times in a row.

Let's be aggressive, take them on and see what happens.

Murph's 100th this week and possibly our last game in Melbourne this year. Blues supporters must be out in force this Friday night!

We are short a big body down back come finals. Geelong have 3 in their forwardline. Bring in Irish for a game down back.

This could get ugly. Cats have a genuine beef with us and will bring the hurt. We must be ready.

Forget about the taggers and tell the boys to go all out. Run them off their legs, separate their defense and run straight through the gaps. :smoking: :smoking:

Just a thought.................then again that was the Doggies plan, so maybe not

Regards Cazzesman

Isn't this the plan that brought us success last time against the Cats. Forget the flanks use the corridor with plenty of run and carry in numbers. We can't match them for skill but certainly can for pace. Walker and Yarran are a must.

Totally agree with this. They will push Ottens & Hawkins forward at various times to compliment J-Pod & Mooney.

Surely T-Bird is the man. Has done the job on Mooney before. His form in the 2's has been excellent.

Bret, I am sorry to be the one to tell you but we've moved on. You probably should too.....

Run them off their legs like we did last time and it wouldn't matter if they had Dunstall, Lockett and Carey floating around in the F50. Let's not be defeatist about this game FFS!!

Pretty sure walks will come in. Played a big part in setting up the win against them last time. Let's hope he can return to his line breaking early season form.
I think he can with the team playing better in general. Let's face it, before the last 2 games, no one was really playing well

Does it really matter whether we get the 4 points in this game? Really, In theory looking at the ladder predictor, a win against the cats will only mean we'd expect to beat freo in round 22... meaning hawthorn beating freo this weekend and bulldogs beating the swans will cause a carl v haw first final. Now honestly speaking, i still don't see our backline being able to contain power forwards in a finals match. e.g buddy and roughy

Am I way off when I say that I don't see us losing to freo round22?? they look tired as it is, this week they will make the longest trip in football perth > tasmania to face the hawks who play physical footy. hawks will no doubt win that game.

Now a loss to the cats puts carlton in the position to play freo round22 in subi, we win.. then we face them again in a home final? which in theory seems the best and only option for of making the grand final, WHICH I OBVIOUSLY AREN'T EXPECTING, but that seems the ONLY slim chance of any success come finals? again, I'd like to replys on other peoples current views on this.

Now IF we come out and beat geelong and beat freo, (collingwood surely beating the hawks in round22?) will result in carl v haw final.. 5th v 8th.. unless anyone can see sydney beating the doggies this week? and then the lions beating sydney in round22 then this will be the likely outcome with a win against the cats.

As for those who think this should be fisher's last game, based on the likely finals outcome if we win, then give him his 100th so he can repay the club with his vfl skills and try apply them against enright, scarlett, hunt, taylor, milburn which will cause a contest and ruin any chances of a win! Surely we all can see now that tanking did exist at carlton, SURELY we can accept a respectable loss here to better our chances come finals?

Anyone who replys to this post, i'm aware no one might agree with anything i've said that's why i'm asking for other peoples views on what they think? do we just accept a win over the cats then dockers and lose against hawthorn? or do we lose against the cats, beat freo and play freo here? because losing to the cats and losing to freo we don't deserve to play finals in my opinion...

For all the talk of AJ being a big loss, Ablett did tear him a new one whilst playing in a midfield that got soundly beaten earlier this season. After saying that Im sure he would still be the one to go to Ablett if he plays.

If he doesn't I think Carazzo is the one to tag him. Army just doesnt have the footy nous and we would also lose some of his aggressive running if he was doing a purely defensive job. Ellard is an option but i can't see him going one on one with Ablett down back. Walker would be an interesting option given he has the pace + tank to play midfield, has played a tagging midfield role in previous seasons and would also be a good match up down back for him. I'll still go with Carazzo though given he has done some excellent shutdown roles this year, and the less of it he has the less sideways running triple you turns followed by a 15metre kick thats a turnover.

Gibbs goes to chappy after the job he did on him last time.

Jamo to Pods, Bower to Mooney. Russell to Johnson. Army to either Varcoe or Byrnes. Mitch to do the defensive HF job on Enright.

@#$%&! the rest, let them worry about us a bit.

Hey Aredee, I think you got the predictor idea wrong. If we beat the cats and everything else goes to script we play a home final against the Swans... even if we lose to Freo in round 22. Please check you analysis????

I'd love to see setanta and henderson up forward.

Waite to go down back. Were short a man in defence and I'd trust Waite more than Irish in defence.

AJ out is a tough one,....... Would anybody be up for robbo to take ablett? Not sure how effective he'd be, but geez it'd be funny! Lol!

Wouldnt move Waite. Leave him forward with Henda.

Walker back in to play defense and run off Pod or Hawkins like he did earlier in the year.

Not sure who to play on Ablett.
