Big chunky scoreline, a great way to finish off my footy season in Melbourne for 2010.
I'm also off to Europe, then the Middle East and Nth America... back before Christmas. aaaaah.

Con:
It wasn't 100 points, it should have been.

Missing out on a potential home final will be hard..... though i'm sure the scenary in Slovenia will help me out.

Pros:

Apart from Henderson's and Warnock's continued improvement, none really. We only beat a bottom team. Wait until next week against the Cats to see where we really are.

Cons:

Simon going OS. Will miss your comments.

Pros:- Nice fifteen goal win over the old enemy.
- Liking our rucks.
- Garlett looks a really good player. Almost always does the right thing.
- Russells return to form
- Gibbs - Another fine game across halfback and another good win.
- Tackling and for the majority of the game.

Cons :- Injuries
- Losing form for small parts of the game and letting our pressure and tackling slip.
- Betts kicking for goal. He is out of touch but still did some nice things. Goal kicking being his main issue.

PROS
Horrible day, dull footy. but we won by 89 pts and its a long time since I've seen us do that
Hendo especially in first half
Warnock and Hammer continue to improve and impress - Jimmae was right about Warnock's left hoof - he'd be close to our longest kick
Scotland having great year
I've been a Ratts critic but he seems to have got us back on track

CONS
Dull game. Small crowd
Gibbs was good but he is wasted in the backline. He doesn't play like Hodge in the back half, he's never going to be a kamakaze. He should be a guy other sides try to tag. He needs to be winning the ball in the centre not getting easy kicks in defence
Pity Swans won, we might end up playing them there rather than here

Pros

Garletts composure under pressure and how he puts himself in best position
Hendo - strong marks, controlling f50. Good below his feet for a big guy
Warnock - tap work beautiful
Kamikaze robbo s desperation smashing into goal post

Cons

Ratts putting hen do back when his confidence was sky high in first half. WTF rats
Injuries to hampson, aj and Hadley

Just finished watching the replay.

For mine one of the most impressive aspects was the continued improvement of Armfield. Very hard to beat one on one, takes them on and now rarely turns it over. He is becoming a model of consistency.

Robbo has cut the crap out of his game and now takes the 1st option. His long kicking is a real weapon. He will win more frees than Selwood if he keeps his cool because everyone will want to rip that head off at every opportunity.

Ellard again good. Davies picked up the speed well after being in quick sand in game 1. Anyone and I mean anyone who has doubts on Hendo needs to switch to water polo as their favoured sport. He is to committed and to footy smart not to get the best out of himself. Great character for 20 yrs old.

Once Hammer and 206 start to regularly pluck those big marks and Special K returns many teams will be afraid.

Well done Ratts and Co. Ratts on the bench is a great move because his efectious desire for the contest will be absorbed by the players. His combatant vibe and love of all things Carlton will become imbedded in the young guns like subliminal advertising.

Pros

Having reached our lowest ebb against Collingwood where the team lost all confidence in its ability, it has been rebuilt albeit against two very ordinary opponents.Players took on their opponents running via the corridor in numbers and exposing the Richmond defence. We look very ordinary when we bring the ball slowly via the flanks. We must continue to play the corridor like Geelong and be prepared to concede on occasions in the process.

Armfield's progression from depth player to probably our most reliable defender. His run and carry out of defence is impressive and his disposal and decision making has improved out of sight.

Our variety of forward options. Most of us thought we would struggle kicking a decent total post Fevola. Our forward structure has been our biggest success story thus far this year. We still have Setanta Yarran and Houla trying to get back into the side

Smashing inferior sides two weeks in a row. In the past we were incapable of burying sides.

Scotland regaining some form after dropping off.

Midfield making our forwards task so much easier with 61 forward fifty entries

Judd still carried our midfield without the fanfare.

Thought Hampson performed better in the ruck of our two ruckmen. His hands are starting to mould to the ball when marking

Cons

Perspective please. Not only did we only beat Richmond it was a very weakened Tigers outfit.

Richmond applied very little pressure on us all day but in the first quarter our disposal was disgraceful.

Our defence still looks vulnerable.

We seem to think that when we win convincigly, we dont need to make personnel changes. We are still carrying out of form players who will yet again be exposed against stronger sides

It seems like it is harder to get out of the side than in it

Most likely have to win another game to avoid another interstate final

Eddies kicking. Beautiful kicking style but has lost all confidence lining up for goal. Needs a shrink. Same goes with Henderson. Beautiful kicking action but misses the easy ones. Hampson's another story. Very awkward style when kicking for goal

Pros- Agree with the above

Cons.

We haven't beaten a team above 13th in the second half of the year.

Observation
Big test for Ellard and Garlett next week. A real test for Ellards body and I want to see Garlett perform when the opposition don't give him any space.

I don't know about that.

Comparing Ratten passing on his love for Carlton to subliminal advertising is hands down the most insulting remark I've ever heard regarding his coaching on this site.

And to think it comes from someone who not only actually works for the club, but who also downloads TV off the internet to avoid said subliminal advertising.

Low C-Man.

Low.

Spare me Fraser. You know what my point was. It is all about what happens on game day as compared to the lectures the players sit through during the week. Ratts is passionate about Carlton and about success for the CFC jumper. His passion will permiate the players. Each time they come to the bench and are in close proximity to him as the game is played out and the tension rises and falls. His passion will seep into the players sitting on the bench alongside him and I have no doubt their intensity will rise accordingly.

My sincerest apologies for not getting that across.

I meant no offence. And FWIW I agree with you.

Pros:

Percentage. Cemented a spot in the finals. Well done.
Warnock, Hendo, Waite, Grigg, Armfield, Jamo, Garlett.
Thought Davies looked pretty good.
Good to see a few different blokes getting a run through the centre square.
Finished ahead on the free kick count for the first time in a long time (St Kilda game I think?).

Cons:

Very average game. Not sure it was a great tune up to take on Geelong.
Kicking for goal was pretty average. A lot of very, very easy goals missed.

I look forward to one day reading about how our coaching panel are trendsetters, bringing in new initiatives which other clubs eventually follow.
ATM we seem to be forever catching up with the ideas and standards of Roos(&team),Clarkson(&team), Lyon and Malthouse.

Amazing that it took the club 2 years to try having a coach on the bench after seeing Roos try it and embrace it.
Better late than never but we seem hell bent on analyzing and trying to copy what the league leaders are doing, meanwhile they are working on evolving to the next level.
