In answer to your inane and should I say insane pre-match summary and question about who and how we were going to kick our goals on SEN this evening:

Listened to the radio up to 3 qtr time as I had to go to a dinner. Thought the game was still in the balance.

Did a score check about 40 mins later and now I need new underwear

I'll be honest, thought we'd have a crack but wouldn't come away with the points.

Absolutely rapt to not only get the win but to SMASH those flower cauliflower. Can't stand them, smug pricks.

Hopefully we can build from this and the confidence returns.

Not much heart attack stuff for us this year.

76 points........biggest winning margin this year......against the Bummers!!!!!  .

Only lost by a handful of points to Freo, so I think you may have some bad intel there.

Incredible last quarter. Bombers inaccuracy helped us but some ridiculously one-sided umpiring gave them plenty of chances to go past us. 22-12 plus 3 50s to nil part-way through the 3rd quarter. Simply mystifying.

I thought Warnock was super special tonight. Really showed some spark and desire and went in for the ball. Loved Ellard and Jeffy.

Bower's goal in the last minute was just a handful of salt in their wounds too.

I just @#$%&! hate those cauliflower so much I can't remember being this satisfied about life in quite some time

Oh, and I thought watching Robbo on Fletcher reminded me a little of these two for some reason::

Who would have thought the umpiring would have been atrocious (yet again) when playing Essendon*????

Seriously, umpiring against Essendon* is at least 5 times worse than any other matches.

Monfries got his obligitory pushed in the back free kicks,
Essendon* got it's obligitory 50 metre penalties for nothing,
Essendon* got at least half of its points as a result of bizarre umpiring decisions in the first half.
and it goes on and on...we were lucky to be in front at half time if you consider the influence of the umpires.

The 50 metre penalty has to be reassessed. It is too big a penalty in a lot of instances.

As for the match, so many positives. I thought Gibbs looked fantastic in defence, Warnock, Garlett- wow!, Ellard, wowee!!,
Juddster - triple wowowow! and Henderson did a lot of great support things as well. The whole team contributed something - hard to
single out anyone.

The team mate of the player taking the kick can go thru the mark but the opponent has to go around. I've seen it happen quite a bit so I think that is the rule.

But last night was make up the rules as you go along.

It only evened up for the Waite goal that was missed by the goal ump....
Who i might add was in about as good a position as any to see it hit the boot before going through.

Should be suspended for missing his appointment with OPSM.

That Neagle kick is one of the weirdest bits of vision. It looks like an obvious goal at first, then rewind/ff/super slow-mo etc and you wonder about it.

Then you notice, almost out of the corner of your eye, the trajectory does change a poofteenth after it passes the post. And look at the rotation of the ball - goes from drop punt to torp after grazing the post. it's just like snicko.

It hit the post.

Don't know how that girl picked it - could be the best goal unpiring decision of all time

BTW the Essendon* players didn't seem to protest much at the decision, did they?

The goal umpire probably judge Neagle's goal on his spud kicking to date.

She might have had some doubt and then thought, nah, it's Neagle.

Gave the season away after the bombers match
Put the season back on track after the bombers match

Noticed in the injuries: Fletcher Hamstring tightness
more like spanked bottom
Hats off to Ellard, Warnock, Grigga, Garls, and of course one the only bald marvel.
I didn't see that coming, so well done Ratts and the boys.
I really liked Bower going all angry. The handball and fifty really was a disgrace and subsequent frustration caused the melee at half time.

The boys made the jumper and themselves proud yesterday and everyone should be proud because of it.
Lets hope they understand that "pressure" & "leadership" is the key to success & team work!
Great Stuff!

As for Ratten can't coach calls ... and the those flowering Umpires ...

Winning is a hell of a lot better than losing.

I knew we wouldn't lose this. We were too determined. After the half-time melee I was double sure.

The yellow maggots were woeful. I don't know how the free kick ended up but they got 5 goals from frees, more than they earned themselves. We got 1. A lot of our free kicks were given as advantage when we had the ball anyway.
We need to do something to the Giesch.

Nice of the club to actually show up this week. Where the hell have they been!!!!??????

Juddy Grigg Robbo Ellard Warnock really set the trend early.

Garlett's an absolute beauty who has a big future.

Nice to see glimpses of the old Jamo spark.

Essendon* and the umpires, just woeful.

Oh...you mean us too.

Thats what happens when they change the rules every year.

Makes up for the goal that "should" have been for Waite

Just proves my point about all the hysteria the umpiring, it does even itself out. I watched the game and while some of the decisions were a little dodgy, they were there in a technical sense. We were good enough so we won!

P.S. The Bower holding the ball and subsequent 50m penalty was a shocker!
