Dear Carlton supporters,

I came to Australia 8 years ago and knew nothing about AFL. My friends and family forced me to became a carlton supporters and i have been a member since 2002. They told me about KOUTA, STICKS, JAZZA, 1999 perlim final Etc. Since 2002 i have seen very little success but I really believe
this group of player is going to take the club to new heights and i am really sick and tired of all the supporters being so unpatient and not giving this coach and group of player time. Both players and coach need to gel together before any success is achived and by make changes in coaching staff or player we are never going to get anywhere. So before this friday's big game lets stop bagging player or the coach and support the club.

By the way on Friday Carlton will get up and will be a turnning point in the season.

Please take a few minutes and read this article.

POW!

HTFU Carlton fans!

Abusing the players isn't going to inspire them; so chin up, back them in, and live and die with them!

We expect the players to back each other, live and die for each other; not turn on each other.

So it's a bit rich to hold ourselves to a different standard.

GO BLUES!!!

I'll be camped in front of the tv here in Beijing surrounded by Scum supporters but will fly the flag (flower I hope we stick it up 'em!).
Go Blues!

POW    Well said.

Having said that...

IMO players have deserved some of the judgements of them.

The players must do whatever any real Aussie Rules footballer does and that is show courage and conviction to get the ball first.

Capiche?

There's a difference from wanting them to succeed and thinking they can. I just don't believe in the 'unconditional' mentality when it comes to following a sporting team. I follow football with my head, I might not be right in my assumptions, but that's the way I do it and always will. My more emotional based interests lie elsewhere. It's not a better or worse approach, it's just different.

My support, they have. My respect, they have to earn again.

I follow the club wiu a single-minded passion greater than anything outside of family and friends in my life.

BUT to see players who clearly gave up on Saturday made my stomach turn, and many others. I pay my membership every year I am entitled to expect more.

The club always has and always will have my support. But I will call a spade a spade.

Good article, Great post!

I for one wouldnt want any of the carlton boys reading that article, as good as it was.

They have to work hard to become the next superpower, not just expect it to happen.

Need to recruit some mongrel because unfortunately we are a bunch of soft turds.

Was watching the 01 final against the tiges yesterday and nearly every bloke in navy blue would throw themselves at the ball,
the contest, the man and whatever else stood in their way. No backwards steps!

Maybe some of the boys should watch some of those games to see what it means to wear the navy blue!!

LIVE IT, BREATHE IT, BLEED FOR IT!!!

Have a spoonful of concrete and harden the F!@# up!!!!!!!!!!!

The age article bends the facts to win the arguement

1) The Geelong of 2006 had already proved it was top 4 material. Carlton has not
2) Geelong in 2006 had a far stronger board then Carlton 2010
3) It is very patronising of the football public to call Carlton supporters impatient. 15 years since our last premiership and 1 finals appearance in 10 years

4) The article contradicts itself by demonstrating the Carlton are not much less experienced than Geelong
5) Analyse as much as you want. Carlton players consistently don't put their heads over the ball. No matter Carltons potential,
as liong as our players play soft fottball we can not be successful
6) Watching footabll since 2002 is not a blueprint to judge what it takes to develop a premiership group. I suggest you compare the current group to our 1978 list to realise how far we are off the mark
7) Finally, I would like to bet you our next premiership will contain less than 10 players on the current list compared to the 18 Geeliong premiership players circa 2006.

Don't live in hope , make a chnage

Hey i'm all for 'gotta support the club' but hey, wheers the support of my club from the players?

All i ask is that my team out in a fair days effort fopr their more than fair days pay. Alas, thats something we just do not seem to get from this team over our recent years and there is the very strong belief by opposition coaches and teams that we do not like the hard stuff.

And it gets shown up time and time again.

They only have to watch the replay of rounds 5 & 7 this year, or a highlights package of Peter Dean

When those little shits running around the G in Blue start putting their bodies on the line for the jumper and their mates then I will be more than happy to "support" them... I have attended almost every game since 1985..not going to stop now...maybe this week out of fkn protest.

That just says it all.. this poor man, comes to Australia, forced to support Carlton. He's told stories of grandure about Sticks, Kouta, Jezza and the 1999 Prelim Final. Just shows how useless the club has been for a long while - when a bloke is sold on the club after hearing about a bloody prelim. Did they tell you what happened the next week Mr Albanian  ???
