It may not be this week, or next - it could even be the first week of finals. What we are going through is a simple form slump.

Hawthorn went through it at the start of the season - where they looked like they could have been beaten by the West Boorhaman U8's reserves rounders team. Now they look as though they could do some damage come September. Adelaide looked the same at the start of the season but turned it around for a few games there. St. Kilda are going through it at the minute.

There is all this talk of this player should go, that coach should go, this numbskull shouldn't have been sent packing to Brisbane.

Really none of this is going to make a shred of difference to any team with such low confidence in themselves and in such a form slump. It really is just sniping.

We will turn this all around and when we do most of this discussion will disappear again. I dont see this slump as a continuing problem, nor as a fundamental flaw in what we are doing as a football club. The confidence will return, the form will return and all our team will look like a class act again - as it did earlier in the season. Its sport - thats what happens.

And if we do turn it on come finals, Carlton could give this competition a real shake up. Who in the top eight would we have absolutely no chance of beating when we are on?

Yes it hurts like hell at the minute - especially with all we have been through. But the swagger will be back

Appreciate your positivity, but if it’s not this week, or next – there will be no first week of finals.

If the form over the last 8 weeks is any indication then we might have to wait a fair while for that bounce
