Or Cimm, there's option C:

The administration has several proposals and plans they're are developing, and this is one of a number of metrics they are using to sift through and validate said proposals and plans.

Do people stop to let the oxygen hit their brain before they spout comments any more?

Not often,.

Jimmae, what is new on the face of the football world that our club would learn from talking to a selected group of members.?

As proffessional administrators surely they would be aware of what irks members and what it takes to run a succesful club. There are studies up the wazoo of what it takes to turn things around. If the club wants it can get professional advice from people who have had similar experiences running other codes or organisations around the world.

Will they, no.

Would they ask for your opinion or mine on weekly team selections and tactics, NO, and nor should they. The membership are ill equiped to make any recommendations on how to solve problems and by running everything by the membership before you implement anything you just slow the process down.

It's a recipie for a whinge festival . Bottom up management was failed process of the 80's and 90's and hopefully will not be returning anytime soon.

They're not asking for your opinion on how they should do their job... it's not an open free for all (any survey that has an area for "additional comments" is mostly for show).

They've tailored the survey to gain answers to build further metrics that they want clarified. That's it. Answer the survey honestly, and you're providing data for the club to help with their existing decision making process.

To ignore or pretend to appease the members/customers/voters is tantamount to professional suicide, no matter your position in the world.

Cimm, you strike me as a decent bloke who puts a bit thought into his opinions, but you're bucking that trend with this effort.

Yes, I've noted as much with a post just back a bit. You might have missed it.

I was under the impression that it was a survey about sweeping changes to the club admin. It ain't, it looks like one of those dinky customer service surveys.

Error acknowleged and vitriol withdrawn.

I also got the survey.
A good way to tell the club what I think.

On a scale of 8-10, please tell us how great we are...

We are looking to presenting research figures at our next board meeting to show overwhelming support as to why we should keep our jobs.

Also, if you donate a few dollars to the player's fund - they feel that they don't get paid enough for their efforts...

The survey should have been sent with new club endorsed text to voice software technology. Perhaps labeled iSticks whereby the recipient hears a deep muffled unintelligible voice and has very little idea as to what it's all about.

The survey was about the membership offering wasn't it?

Mostly about what you want from your membership package.

What you thought of the advertising slogan

Whether you think the weekly emails are a source of revolutionary embracing of the information SUPERhighway...

I think the closest point one could make to what you think of the board situation is the attitude of the slogans and the sense of entitlement that the flag will come when it's our turn. It presents the wrong message, one that says we don't have to work for it. That our board don't need to work for it. That our players don't. That our coach doesn't. That it will just happen when the time comes around.

that's old thinking. Not current thinking and the marketing package this year, to me at least, was not a patch on last year.

But like the club are going to send out a 'tell us what you think of us in every facet' email... :garthp:

Yep. I actually received it as a voicemail. I could hardly make anything out. The only bit I got was about half way through. It sounded like "....stand by our plan.." or something.

Just thinking now. It might have been "stand by your pan". Anyway, not sure. But you're right, definitely deep, muffled, unintelligible. Thank God the administration isn't run like that.

To me that's the issue. I just wish they'd take the time to ensure everything that comes out of the club was professional.

Yeah it is really not that hard to ensure communication is at the very least factually correct. Shit, get a work experience kid to check that stuff.

It sounds similar to the survey that I completed last year.

My feedback at the time was that I would like to see another form of interstate/long distance membership as I was prepared to pay for a Gold level membership but it was a waste paying full gold as I could not attend more than 3 or 4 games at most. I suggested a five game long distance gild membership with some other incentives (such as entry to a coterie group for a couple of games).

The other suggestion I made was for the marketing mob to produce a summer singlet (similar to the basketball singlet produced years ago). I said I could move 100 of them as there was a real market in north Aust. It might be cold down south, but there are lots of Blues supporters in the warmer climes.

I received a nice letter in response saying that my suggestione were appreciated - but it doesn't appear that they had any effect.

You go allright as a marketing man NTB.

Just remember the hottest (temperature) cities in Australia are down south, in order Adelaide, Melbourne, Perth..etc etc...they actually have the highest peak temperature of all the Aussie cities. Eg you don't see Brisbane hitting 46 degrees, nor Sydney, but Melb and Adelaide do.

Singlets all round.

Oh yeah...I got the Sticks email questionairre. Haven't opened it up, but it sounds a lot like last year's and I too made a few suggestions...in one ear and out the other...well that's what I expect.

I got the feeling in some of the questions was like, if we stop giving some crap out with memberships and still charge the same are you happy with that.

My complaint was about the members caps, made for fatheads..

I suggested they raffle a day in the box with Ratts. I reckon we could sell 200 tickets at $50 a pop just on TC alone
