I think the term softness has more to do with a mental lack of attention to our work rate.
I agree. Its more to do with the players work ethic and willingness to go into battle for each other. Jeez, Malthouse has even turn show pony Daisy Thomas into a half decent player. Pagan didn't have the players and his gameplan was outmoded but he motivated the players until the very end when his own unwillingness to change meant they had enough of him.
