It will be iinteresting to see who gets dropped this week.

Stats ratts stated that he will change the mix due to the fact that certain players are not puting there heads over the ball and winning contested footy.

Cannot wait till thursday night to see what happens coz if i was a player dropped this week i would think that the coach reckons im soft.

- Johnson

In
- Thornton
- Armfield
- Robinson
- Houlihan

Before our round 3 game against the Bummers Ratts kept playing down the fact we hadn't beaten them in years and we came out with the intensity of wet cabbage. It seems neither approach works for us.

Why? Can't handle it then play for the Bullants.

PS: Gumbleton is out for the year.

out's; bower, johnson, carrazzo, fisher, joseph and scotland
in's; austin, davies, robinson, casboult, browne and kerr
never going to happen but at least the in's will have a crack!!!

few years ago we dropped scotland and stevens so i believe we should do the same with some 'SENIOR' players.
todays game for the bullants is a big one for some boys.

Again I'm a bit worried about this one....

Please Blue Boys - make it safe for me to go to work next Monday, I am soooooo tired of those feral bomber supporters thinking that they are the best!!!!!

Let's give Casbult and Davies a run! Bring Robbo in for some mungrel, Aussie and White, maybe these young boys will stand up, make a statement and force some of our senior players to pull their head in and have a go. Put their positions under some pressure.... happens at the pies - their poop players stood up and have been forcing their way into the side all year, ord players stood up and pantsed our so called 'stars'

Pull your heads in, grow a pair and have a bloody GO!!!!!!

i thought johnson put in & doesn't deserve to be dropped.

our best inside mids were judd, ellard (disposal, skills are not up to AFL level but his endeavour must be rewarded!), betts.
i loved yarran running through the middle. he could turn into a michael long.

bower should be played - his endeavour was ok, just played cloke wrong & hasn't the form/fitness yet.
fisher was not up to it. had several 1-on-1 opportunities which is supposed to be his strength & stuffed them all until he clunked that great mark, which may keep him safe for one more week to see if he acclimatises to AFL level.

We need to drop those guys who have been playing soft:
- carrazzo, murphy, gibbs (although he did a couple things...), joseph, scotland.

And, i would run ellard, robinson, betts, yarran even garlett through the midfield. and joseph, if he stays in the team.

We'll probably beat the bombers but not sure that would be a good thing - depends on HOW we do it and what we take away from it. (chances are, it will allow us to think we are not so bad after all....!!! )

So how many marks will Fletcher take this week?

What plan will the coach have in place to make this sniper accountable and give our forwards a one on one contest?

Will our midfielders look up once more and see no option and have to bomb it long or will they have to try some low percentage option and have it turned over as well.

5 marks inside 50 we took yesterday! There is just no system to give our forwards the best opportunity except having Eddie Betts as CHF against someone who has a significant height advantage on him. It was Morris against the Dogs and O'Brien yesterday yet our players still kicked it to Eddie on the lead - how can this possibly happen? Why would our midfielders be kicking it to Eddie against these two much taller defenders?

If the booze cruise incident hadn't happened, would anyone be shitting on about playing Casboult?

Hands up, those who want him in this week, who have actually seen him play?

Having watched the Bumbers win and the Carlton loss this weekend, I just can't see us winning this one.
Our confidence and commitment are missing. End of story.

Who do we have that can come into our side and give us something? Armfield & Houlihan? Probably.
Setanta? Is he better than Hammer? I don't know, and I don't think he is.

Can we muster a game plan to beat 'em?
Well, who will do that? Ratts isn't motivating the players and they aren't playing for him imo.
What else could it be?

Sorry crew, but this week I can't see any trees for wood.
I was more confident in a Blues win 2-3 years ago.
This is the lowest I've felt about our prospects for many many years.

Will the 3 Amigos kick a winning score? Dunno?
Will the get the opportunities to score? Didn't this week. Dunno.

We will get slaughtered this week. Saw a bunch of Essendon* players watching yesterdays game, the only chance we have is if they are overconfident.

The scum reserves beat top side Willy yesterday

The scum's confidence will be sky high playing us (who could blame them)

Wonder how many times we will kick it to Fletcher :?:

Wonder how many frees & goals Monfries & Davey will get :?:

Reimers will have his 2nd birthday this year

Lovett-Murray will probably be promoted & tear us to bits as usual

:thanks:

Oh, I nearly forgot Hille

Out: Carrazzo, Henderson (general soreness), Joseph (general soreness)

In: Houlihan, Thornton, Armfield

FB: Thornton Jamison Ellard
HB: Armfield Bower Russell
CC: Scotland Murphy Simpson
HF: Yarran Waite Houlihan
FF: Betts Fisher Walker

RR: Warnock Gibbs Judd

Int: Hampson, Garlett, Johnson, Grigg

Notes:

- The talls I've named at either end must start and stay at those ends; Walker will draw a man up forward and will be more dangerous than in defence if dragged deep. His endurance is something we lack amongst our smaller forwards.

- Waite & Fisher to take turns presenting up the field

- Thornton & Jamison should be set a combined target of 10 successful clearances from defence with an average time in possession of about 6 seconds; they cost us with their indecision at times.

- Henderson is clearly dog tired; Joseph is slightly tired but mentally drained; Carrazzo is picking and choosing his moments to have a dip. One effective tackle yesterday; equal worst for a small with Gibbs & Simpson, both of whom had a @#$%&! dip.

- The temptation to bring in Davies was tempered by the fact that he is currently a bit average in possession, thus defeating the point of adding his run to the team. Would hate to see him blooded too early and turn into Joe Anderson.

- Also tempted to bring in Tuohy for Ellard; David only managed 13 disposals from 19 possessions, that differential of 6 being equal worst on the ground with Pendlebury (33/39) and Blair (11/17). Second game in was still a clear improvement and needs one more opportunity to see if he can turn that effectiveness around.

EDIT:

- Garlett, Yarran & Eddie must be implored to take turns pushing up into midfield such that one of them is always presenting there. All the way up to HB. Failing to do that hurts our transition.

- The roll down needs to @#$%&! off because this lot don't have a clue about how to execute it, particularly once possession is re-gained.

I'm normally half full, but just can't see us winning this.

Sure, the Bombers had that bad patch of six successive losses but in that period they had losses to Swans 8 pts (SCG), Hawks 16 pts and copped injuries to crucial players, especially Pears and Fletcher. 12 goals to Le Cras in that WC loss was a freak occurrence when their backline just had no class options to take him. Recent wins v Roos and Saints, IMHO their form is way ahead of ours the past 8 weeks.

Conversely, we have been bottom 3 standard since Hawks game and now play a team that has won its last 6 against us with Judd either out or dodgy at best??? Let's not kid ourselves, they are playing well enough to account for a bottom 3 team at the moment.

I'll take an honest, committed team effort and if this results in a win, so be it, as unlikely as that is.

Willy beat the Ants by at least 10 goals recently, IIRC.

Pretty much sums up where we are at right now.

Watched him on TV last week for the first time. Let's just say he could have more influence than Hampson. He may not be near ready for AFL, but I'd give him a chance at Full Forward.

Hampson has had plenty of influence, as evidenced by his 20 hitouts and 2 goals.

With Judd out our lineup looks very thin. Our better players are mainly down with niggles or bad form and our confidence is shot.
Cant see us chinning the in form bombers whose lineup even on paper look better than our current line up.

Would be a major upset if we got up this week.
