How hard is it?

Very.

Every team f...s up fairly often.

While you're right, we turn into a bunch of school girls after a couple of bad experiences. It's terrible, and the crowd jeers only seem to send us into a further panic.

When walls was coaching we had 3 kick-in startegies;
1.The cluster - cluster at CHB and then break to set positions
2. The long bomb to the ruckman
3. The quick short pass - Never that quick b/c we had to wait for goal umpire to finish waving flags.

This current team has absolutely no kick in plan - the most common tactic is the 15 metre sideways kick which doesnt relieve any pressure it just transfers the pressure onto some other poor sap.
The "brainstrust" should be able to work something out, I mean isnt that one of the jobs of the defensive coach???

Full credit to Russell for being the only one with enough guts to do it.

We used the huddle (not the cluster as you've seemingly renamed it) under Pagan. We use the other two constantly.

The best strategy at present is somewhere in between: kick to a flank, taller play screens for runner who takes the ball and goes. The ball travels about 65 m in all of 5 seconds.

Don't blame the kicker. Can't be easy deciding which witches hat to kick at.

Or statue...you'd think Carlton players were part of the Uffizi Gallery exhibition yesterday.....AND EVERY OTHER FLOWERING WEEK.....IT MAKES MY BLOOD BOIL

I don't have any stats to prove my point but my observation is that the best way to go is to tap the ball onto your foot and carry the ball. I find when the kicker moves then others move as well. I point to Collingwood and see Shaw do it time and time again and it seems to work.

We have the right player to run and carry the ball in Russell but we don't do it. If he is instructed not then that is an issue but if he doesn't have the inclination to then he shouldn't be kicking.

Tom Harley mentioned an interesting stat
Carlton are the second best in the league at creating scoring shots from their kick INS

Oh dear.

Well perhaps Headcuter will be able to respond to that.

You'll have to wait til next time we have a heavy loss though. He doesn't do wins.

Not too busy to pop in after some heavy losses this year.
