Con
Filth supporters have serious issues.

Despite the fact the Filth won and won easily I've received a PM asking me if I was retarded here (albeit from a troll) and a nasty message on Twitter regarding my appearance. WTF.

Yep, Warnock is showing plenty.

Pity it took the MC 12 games to figure out he was actually a guy we aquired through targeted recruiting and that his first 4 or so games this year were pretty good.

Maybe they forgot.

Sorry MRS C it is a pro if they dont care and havent cared for the last 6 weeks why should we - the coach even admitted he was embarrassed by the performance today and indeed said that it was their most embarassing performance since he started coaching- a big statement -he also said that some didnt even have a dip
it should have been 148 points today with the effort that was put in - I dont get it 76000 people at the G against the arch enemy -supposedly fighting (I use the word only) for a spot in the 8
4 or 5 years ago we werent very good and put performances in like today and we got belted because we werent good enough AND WE ALL KEPT GOING because we cared

Today we werent good enough BUT WE ALSO RAISED THE WHITE FLAG - players were totally unaccountable - didnt get down and dirty coach even said so - last 6 weeks really have been terrible and today really was inept and unacceptable

I will be going on friday night hoping like hell that we win but how can you have any faith in them when they dont have faith in themselves -

Agreed, only positives today were 206 and Grigg.

In my humble opinion, if the MC had any balls they would drop Murph and Gibbs for their pathetic efforts over the last few weeks. Murph saved himself with a good second half last week .... This week he finds himself in the backline on Leon for a while, cause there wasn't anywhere else for him apart from the bench

However, I would be amazed if either was dropped as we have to win next week against the Scum. Personally, I would rather see Robbo, Wiggo or any of the young kids willing to put their bodies on the line instead of these front runners, but it just won't happen.

Unbelievable performance. Shame

Pros
I didn't go

Warnock showing something against very good opposition.

Cons:
Warnock not playing for most of the year despite no injury.... does anyone on the MC have a clue about player development???

The scoreline is the biggest con of all. masks how completely shithouse we actually were

pretty much everything else

my dwindling interest in Carlton. I've gone beyond anger to massive disappointment and am heading to general malaise about everything Carlton. The problems run very deep at this club, and I just can't see where the lift is going to come from. Problem is I don't know that anyone at the club charged with fixing the problems can see where its coming from either.

i get the feeling that there a number of us who are getting to this point. i think its coming to the realisation that we have barely moved forward from 2007 when the promise for so much was there.

What was wrong with the Kreuzer and Jacobs ruck pairing up until the Fremantle game?

That's just a cheap shot at Ratten.

The rucks aren't a problem.

Con: Club going nowhere fast.

PRO: we won junk time so in 5 years time when people see today's score they'll see one team outclassed by another rather than one of the most one-sided matches since Fitzroy were playing.

CON: I'm far more interested in soccer than footy for this exact reason - watching Carlton play like that can be just soul destroying.

I wouldn't say there was anything wrong with it, but I reckon Warnock's potential is far greater than Jacobs. Jacobs was servicable but not fantastic. I agree with cimm1979 as I think there was plenty of room to at least share the second ruck role around just for their development. plonking a bloke in the 2s for 3 months does sweet FA given the chasm that has developed in the level between VFL and AFL

Pros:

First and last 15 minutes.
Warnock (has serious upside).
Simmo, Grigg, Russell and Waite.
Yarran showed a bit.
Ellard showed a bit late in the game. I just hope they stop the selection hijinks, and give him a decent run to see what's he got.
Gibbs looked good when moved down back.
Finally some strong words from Ratts.
Only one more game for Fisher.

Cons:

They were simply too big, too quick, too good. And to think they had Presti and Heath Shaw missing. Seriously impressive.
The number of cheap free kick goals our opponents get. I shudder to think what's going to happen next week against More-frees, Davey and Reimers.
Henderson's marking and kicking was disappointing.
Seeing as Bower hasn't really filled out as we might have liked, I hope they give a serious run in the seniors to Austin once he's fit. We need to develop at least one really big bodied key position player.

Pro: I promised myself that I would text my collingwood supporter cousin after every Carlton goal today. Had budgeted about 100 Aussie bucks for it. only sent three texts in the first hour and half of footballl and didn't bother in the last so I saved a fortune.
Con: gave up a saturday morning's sleep in to watch the match

Pro: Warnock looked ok, Ellard looked servicable, Grigg should continue to hold his spot, and I thought Hendo was pretty ok too. A minor mention to Simo who looked like he was trying without being effective.
Con: Fisher should never play another game for CFC. He is a great mark i'll give him that, but he falls to ground at every contest and set up so many rebounds for collingwood with his inability to keep his feet. He takes his own players out at contest, marks only one out of every 10 balls sent his way and is sitting on his butt watching the other 9 leave the forward line without pressure and giving his 17 other team mates an extra player to man up on. I really used to like fish too.
Gibbs: Is he really as bad as he is playing now? Weak, gutless, unaccountable.
Murphy: Again, what's happened to him. A shadow of the player he once was.
These guys are not playing like they mean it.

Give me hard footballers or young players that may develop over those selected today

O'hailpin over Fisher everytime. (F took one mark when the game was dead. O'hailpin wouldve let Ben Reid know he had an opponent)

Mitch Robinson over Ellard everytime (Don't care about Ellard's endeavour . He is tiny, can't kick and is a joseph/Carrazzo Clone

Hadley over Chris Johnson (Soft receiver is Chris at least Hadley can get under a Pack.

and for that matter if we are going to play a brand of football that deserves a 20 goal thumping---throw in Zach Thouy, Marcus Davies and Levi Casboult. They would have done no worse

and Brett Ratten.......

I laughed when you had Carrazzo on Swan. At very least you needed to rotate the tag. How about making Gibbs step up to the plate and run with Swan. Carrazzo is not the future.

Setanta over Fisher? Maybe but not at present when Setanta is this badly out of form. Fisher did something Setanta hasn't done all year. Took a big pack mark in the 3rd qtr. That's what we need! There'd be more of those on better days. Not point worrying about much else given the forwards had nothing coming to them. The game was dead by 1/4 time. Dead or not it was a fair dinkum pack mark. Setanta would've been useless the way we played yesterday. At present, temporarily, I'd take Fisher 100 times over up forward.

TBH I like Setanta down back. I watched the 2008 game against Collingwood on Ch 72 yesterday and he look so at home thrashing Cloke and getting into his face. We need that too. Didn't mind the bloke up front either that kicked 8.6 that day. Has thew attitude improved any since he left?

Hadley's been tried and failed.

Carrazzo's played good footy for us for a number of years. Age-wise not the future but certainly the present even if temporarily not in his best form. Not on his own there.

Mitch is certainly the future and may be unlucky but Ellard's been ok.

No good plucking things. The side as a whole have to lift and work way harder.
