That has got to be the most flattering scoreline I can remember. 48 points? May as well have been 200. Played off the park......again.

For those who naively believed that last week’s second half against West Coast was the goddamn Renaissance, welcome back to planet Earth, where Carlton have essentially played two months of gutless, aimless and confused football.

On the other side we unfortunately watched our hated rivals display a greater understanding of every facet of their game. Yes, there are coaches that take a hack like Leigh Brown and make him look good, and there are coaches that can take a hack like Chris Johnson and make him look like a bigger hack.

PROS

1. Warnock – nice to see some progress

2. Waite – Saved us a 12 goal deficit at quarter time as loose man in defence. But, does he get swung around the ground too much to settle?

3. Yarran showed some dash but had nothing to kick to at the end of the dashes (surprise surprise)

4. I got to see live how a team should block for and protect their premier midfielder, except it wasn’t Carlton player.

5. Kill me

CONS

1. Carlton is in disarray – over the last 2 months we are surely the third worst side in the league, only above BL and WCE who we have beaten. I know Collingwood are hot. But - Are we this bad? Is our list this bad? I scream ‘No’! And someone needs to be held accountable for what is going on right now.

2. Carrazzo – Just got creamed by Dane Swan at the stoppages early. Not his fault, because Collingwood block superbly for him. The most damning thing for Brett Ratten is after 3 years, he hasn’t taught our players how to block for Judd. And don’t you dare tell me we need big bodies, because Sharrod Wellingham could do it for the other mob. Brad Scott has North protecting Harvey after 12 games. 3 years and we don’t block for Judd. 3 years Ratten!

3. Eddie Betts – I’ve never put Eddie in the Cons, but his opponent Harry O’Brien just ran off him with too much ease. I know it’s not easy being a Carlton forward, but still not good enough.

4. Chris Johnson – scared of his own shadow. Yeah, he can kick. But he’s scared of his own shadow. Fumbles under the most minute pressure.

5. The lack of structure forward of the ball. We just don’t know where to kick to on the next line. Ever. Our players look confused and can’t cope with pressure because they have no reliable outlet.

I’m waiting for people to answer that our players are gutless and classless and lack skills and can’t kick and every other excuse under the sun.

But I am convinced there is a deeper pathology at this football club at the moment. And it starts at the top.

On a non footballing note - another CON

It is very disappointing to see how well Collingwood make the MCG feel like a home ground. The players huddling in front of the cheersquad before the game, with old highlights playing to Collingwood music really lifted the atmosphere at the ground for the filth.

Why Carlton can't do anything similar for our home games is beyond me. I mean, how hard is it?

We are inferior in every aspect unfortunately.

I am convinced our club is run by morons.

PROS: My first child is still overdue so missed another Carlton debacle

CONS: He/She will be born in time to see another probable loss to Essendon*

Pros:
Maybe Warnock, Grigg and Ellard (at least this kid puts his body on the line)

Cons
For us to be a competitve finals outfit the following guys should be moved aside:
Walker
Joseph
Johnson
Carrazzo
Fisher

Those guys will never be able to take us to the next level.

Pros
Warnock, Hammer, Grigg, Ellard all proof that players need an extended run in the seniors
Waite but agreed he probably gets swung around too much to really settle and his 4 games on the sidelines wouldn't help that either
Collingwood fans are still the dumbest ugliest bunch of mongs on Earth and they make me feel good about my own shortcomings

Cons
Lost to the Filth, always hurts even if they are playing immaculate footy
Need to work out how to not wilt under pressure - whatever gameplan we have just flies out the window when this happens and it happens very quicky too, you can see the players slumping very early on when we're struggling
Questionable umpiring decisions when the game was still undecided early in the second

Overall I expected a thumping.

pros: closer to the end of the season

cons: it isn't the end of the season yet.

Pros - The Cazzes didn't go today. We went to see Stephen Fry at the fabulous Regent Theatre and had a great time as he regaled us with stories of his life. We Laughed and laughed and laughed. And then when we came out of the Regent we got the score and we cried and cried and cried. It was an up and down kind of arvo really.

Regards Cazzesman

I was working so didn't have to sit through the game
Only a few more games to endure until the season is over.
I still want the club to be successful
CONS
We are are in a deep deep hole and seem powerless to drag ourselves out of it given the current personnel at the once mighty Carlton Football Club.
Hope Juddy is ok

My tickets were free.

Con, WALKER
Carrazzo

Jammo

Too many cons to mention, most of our players make such basic mistakes, don't get me started on kicking, too many wouldn't be able to hit a side of a house even if their life depended on it!!

Pros
- Warnock. Contested well. More of the same please.
- Grigg. I've always been a fan and don't know why he spent so much time in the Bullants.
- Ellard. Has limitations but looks like a footballer.
- Yarran.

Cons
- Bower and Henderson. I like them but they were both very poor today.
- Carazzo
- Joseph
- Fisher
- Johnson

pros

warnock, grigg, waite, thats it

cons
walker has to be 1 of the worst number 2 picks i have ever seen, boy he can run but is so sloppy its not funny, all the hype on this forum when he runs around princess park, never believing in this hack again , he is pedestrian at best.

jamieson, joseph, carrazzo, johnson, ellard, fisher, we are never goin to win a premiership with these players, doesnt ratten understand, i dont get it

we are just a shit team, we dont do the team things, support each other, can someone name a player that blocks in the midfield bc judd, murphy, gibbs and carrazzo dont , maybe scotland and simo but its not enough

no foward line struture, if we are relying on the 3 amigos , u gotta be kidding me, 3 front runners, that kick most there goals in junktime, and we had fisher there, henderson who is young and hammer there, we were never gonna win with a foward line like that

Waite Hampson Warnock Grigg Simpson ... oh yeah, and Judd
Reality check. I understand the gap between us and the Top team.

CONS

Don't know if the problem is the players or the coach or both.
Our prospects for 2010 don't look too strong.

COMMENT

Have a look at our list again. Kreuzer's out for the season and maybe Houla and Lucas making it 3 missing from our best team.
We boast names like Judd Waite Murphy Gibbs Simpson Scotland Walker Russell Bower Betts Yarran.
Throw in a couple of tall mobile rucks in Hampson and Warnock, and you'd think you've assembled a very competitive core of class there.

I said today that I fear that Ratten's game plan of run and carry and angles is probably unbeatable if executed perfectly, but it's probably equally extremely hard to execute for 22 human beings. I reckon he's a bit 'out there' to tell you the truth.
But hey, that's just how I feel now.

Hopeless and Lifeless... a bit sad.
Gotta pick ourselves up again and go hard at the Bumbers next week...at the MCG.

We are very, very lucky not have lost that game by 20 goals. We certainly deserved to.
