I have no idea of the ages or heights or what the players look like that I have mentioned in the OP. I don't really know what the standard is like in those Tassie comps. just wondering if any of them worth a look at?

TSL for the most part is as far off AFL as I am

Little played at Hawthorn a few years back, obviously struggled to get a game because of Franklin and Roughead. He's a beautiful kick and a nice mark, but is lacking in the size that Carlton want. He'll definitely be drafted, but the Blues need a guy that can take a big contested mark, as Lachie Henderson is the lead-up player that Little would be.

I think Matt Little is most famous for being James Hird's cousin.

Jamie Vlatko of East Coast Eagles (AFL Sydney) 53 @ 4.82
Brant Chambers of Sturt (SANFL) 42 @ 3.2
Nick Salter of Eagles (SANFL) 27 @ 3.38
Cleve Hughes of Southport (QLFL) 63 @ 4.85

Jamie Vlatko is a ex Glenelg/Norwood lad. Pretty decent forward when on song, but a bit hot n cold. Moved to Sydney for work, and footy for his would be a pastime now. As he left Glenelg to go to Norwood he's a moron anyway.

Brant Chambers is a gun. Greatest ever goalkicker for Sturt, but has missed the boat in regards to the AFL. Highly surprised the Crows nor Port ever got him on a list as a mature rookie. Always cops a fair bit of abuse from us ferals down at the Bay, which is a good sign of respect for the great man.

Nick Salter is on the Port Power list. Worth a punt IMO. Can play back as well (just).

Cleve Hughes, another ex Norwood lad. Ex Richmond reject. Playing for Southport in the QAFL, I dare say so he can get his name under the recruiters from the Suns. Pass.

If I was recruiting I'd look at Todd Grima from Glenelg. Ex Geelong rookie, VFL premiership player in 2007. Named in the VFL state team at CHF the same year. Brother of Nathan Grima at the Roos, and his sister Hollie plays for the Matildas. A fairly talented sporting family. Can take a good pack mark, is strong and has a reasonable leg on him. Has kicked 35 goals this season so far, who along with ex Hawk rookie Ruory Kirkby has booted 34 for the Bays.

Kirkby has the best grab in the SANFL IMO, has a nice left foot, but probably lacks a yard. He too would be worth a punt as a mature rookie.

Don't worry about Todd Grima - go for his sister Hollie.
190cm, solid, good agility.
We've recruited worse prospects.

Grant Weeks (Golden Square) kicked a 100 by round 12 in the Bendigo League

He's on youtube kicking 12 vs Castlemaine

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wFBvZl8HNLA

think he may have been at the Bendigo Bombers previously

What is the status of Ryan Murphy at Freo.
Tore us a new one back in 2006
drafted 2003
great kick
193cm
Not a key position but perfect 3rd forward

Saw that game and was impressed, but let's not fall for the old 'he played well against us so lets get him at all costs' routine as we have several times. The Dockers aren't blessed with great forwards (Pav aside) and Murphy can't get a gig. He has been there for years. He is due to be delisted. We really don't need more guys who can't get games at their original clubs.

This guy will difinitely be drafted next year even more so with the compromised draft situaton with GC concessions. Which club who knows wouldnt surprise if the Dogs pick him up as they have been quite impressed with his recent developement, hopefully we have at least looked at him as an option. Still young (22 i think)

Yep, just checked. He'd be about 21-22. Definitely in the right age group for a shot, but I'll leave the draft analysis to others.

Barry Hall would have been handy... Yes Barry was a potential time bomb but he seems to have learn't his lesson

Could be that he is getting the best aggot of his life lace out that has calmed him down. If he had to put up with the delivery into our forward line in the last 5 weeks, he may have damned near killed someone.

Great post gbatman.

Does anyone who follows the junior leagues know any of these guys?

Teddy i live up in Darwin and to be honest the guy that stands out is Ephrem Tipungwuti, although not tall, he is short and stocky, has a strong overhead mark and penetrating kick. I have mates who have played on him and they tell me not one of them can beat him for pace, just by looking at the guy he doesnt seem quick or agile, they were quiet shocked at how fast this guy is and his harder than a concrete bollard to knock over...Even if unfit and after a big meal of dugong, he would still beat rioli and davey in a foot race, although he wouldnt have the endurance as those guys would have...But the disapointing thing is, he probably wouldnt have the right attitude or commitment to make it in the AFL, relton roberts who was picked up by richmond last year is an example of this.....There's alot of untapped talent up in the topend, Carlton need players with unique skills, talent and flair, not just great athletes with basic football skills.......

Ephrem Tipungwuti of Tiwi Bombers - love the way he plays but he's not a tall forward. He has the height of a medium midfielder (say 5'10" in the old) and the weight of a ruckman. Fast over the first two or three metres but wouldn't have a hope of surviving in the AFL.

When Kruez went to FF ... he looked completely out of his depth .. had no idea ... he is a born ruckman and that is where he should play.

I agree that Kreuzer is a natural, and mobile ruckman who plays like a ruckrover, which is incredible for a guy of 200cm.

We need to back in Irish, Waite and Hendo.

I would also look at Wiggins and Houlihan.

Betts Irish Houlihan

Gibbs Waite Yarron

Bench for Hendo,

We need to have Irish always inside 50 and ready for the long ball.

chain setanta to the goal square, with no more than ten metres give, and we'll at least have someone to make a contest... just as long as he doesn't make any more leads to the pocket

got to play him next week you'd think
