At the moment, any real significant action that will take place will be the result of a serious injury sustained. Somebody could break their neck FFS and then something will be done when it's too late. It all comes back to the greed of the AFL and the stadium I think. Closing Waverley, who's surface had its fair share of bad injuries including our own, but it was never as bad as Etihad is now. Bullying Carlton into moving from Princes Park, where the surface is pristine to play on a ground with a concrete carpark underneath it. All for a few extra $$$ while not taking into account the health and safety of the footballers. When a serious injury does happen, both parties will finger point at the other. The AFL will blame the stadium and vice versa. Expect a massive shit fight and many, many more repercussions other than an AFL player's life altered as a result of this injury. It's a ticking time-bomb- it's not a matter of if, but when.
