we can win if we hunt them with the intensity we brought against the cats & saints.
it was a scratchy win last night, given the first half. but we belted them by 9 goals in the 2nd half - that's a pretty strong illustration of what we can do when we go in hard with intensity Vs what happens when we don't (1st half).

very frustrated that melbourne can belt sydney. richmond can win 4 in a row. we can't do either. sorry, we WON'T do either - we certainly can, not sure we can be bothered...

Having said that, i have a good feeling for this week. many are writing us off. most people would not have given brisbane a chance against the pies, or the demons. they wouldn't have given melbourne much chance against the swans today or the power against the crows. OR Essendon* against us, earlier in the year.
bring our A game & we can win. (and then we'll probably lose to Essendon*....!!)

PS. I thought Garlett was excellent.

Their are games within a season that define the character of a club. One of those games is Saturday. The boys and Ratts coaching team can really send a statement of intent this week, I for one would gladly wipe the egg off my face if we win this.

Nice new word there

Walker must run with Swan and just keep hitting the ball away from him. ... he will outrun him all day ... Stop Swan ... Stop Collingwood.

I would play Russell on Harry ... Joseph on Didak.

To win this one we have play a whole game like we did in the second half against the Weagles. Amazing just how much better our skills and decision making were in the second half. Winning the ball out of the centre is everything. We must take them on ... run with the ball into the forward line.

GO BLUES.

be nice to beat them both but watching The Pies carve up Richmond yesterday I'm not hopeful

They set up in a way that gives you no space. Wave after wave of players coming in for the tackle. Then when you eventually turn it over sharp shooters like Didak and Davis score and break your spirit even further. Then big leigh brown kicks a couple out of his arse or they move they force you to over commit players to the contest and they pinch it and hand pass their way to the goalsquare for an easy goal further rubbing you nose in it. At this stage you start kicking more but without the ability to move the ball to a position where you can kick over their defenders they have gathering 35 -60metres out form your goal they just keep picking it off.

How to you stop this? Well the only team i have seen do it (since magpies have this form) is geelong and they do it by being really good at 15 -20 footpasses. They lead through the various clusters and get hit up. THen that player turns and the same thing happens again until they can kick over the defensive line where they create a contest and get the defenders shaking. Cats also match the Pies for muscle and manage to keep the ball moving even when getting gang tackled.

I think we have to hope the pies have a bad day and hope we have a really good game.

PS when are the top teams going to start heavy training loading for the finals? Too early?

I think I'm in the wrong place.
I was looking for the TalkingCarlton site and seem to have come across the TalkingUpCollingwood site.
Stuff the boundary hugging b*stards.
I reckon we're every chance.

Very good indeed.
Did it last year at the 'G by a considerable margin if I remember.
Waite ran amok on the forward line and they looked clueless.
The personnel hasn't changed that much in 12 months.

So how long do these bouts of Negative Nancyness usually last do ya reckon? I think I caught the virus after the Swans game, and can't shake it.
Apologies if it's catchy..but hey..there is some weird comfort and comraderie over here on the dark side.
love,
Melvina Synbadia.

The only way to handle pressure is to apply it ourselves....

That's the only way Carlton knows to play. If we don't play hard, tackle hard and run hard, We Crack and we get smashed to pieces under pressure. Yet its that same pressure that we play our best football if we apply it to the opposition.

Yup! I've won over $500 this season (for around a $90-$100 outlay) betting against Carlton.... Mainly cause were far to predictable.

If you think I enjoy winning this cash whilst watching my team loose horribly, your clearly mistaken.

I'll be putting my money on the pies this weekend...... But that doesn't mean I don't believe we can't win this....... I honestly think we can....

To the bloke who wants Thouy in. I reckon you are spot on. Zac looks all class. Personally, I do not understand the selection obsession with guys that are just ever going to be average footballers like Ellard when you have a guys like Thouey and Hampson. IMO if you persist with these guys in the seniors they will overtake the likes of Ellard.

Nah I reckon you need to reward any player who consistently play well in the 2's otherwise where is the motivation for everyone?
