We can definitely promote Tuohy at this stage, and I'm glad other people are looking at the list and realising it is a possible option.

I genuinely think Waite will get off. It's ridiculous that he was even cited in the first place; was a simple case of the wrong crowd, wrong reputation. Pathetic by the umpire; nothing more than a downfield free kick.

We have some confidence back, but not enough to take on this mob with their tails up higher than the average peacock. We will need a mighty coaching effort during the week, and that's not to berate Ratten, it's just that I don't think there's a coach in the AFL that could get us up and running in time.

Out: Garlett, Armfield (inj)

In: McLean/Robinson, Houlihan/Tuohy

So lucky for me I have lived through the most unsuccessful period in Carlton's history but still love and barrack for Carlton.

Can you get your old man to look up the definition of the words 'correlation' and 'hubris' for me? Perhaps he can feed you those, and then you can claim them to be gathered from a year 11 English class.

I reckon Ando deserves to come in for Armfield, one of the few who can hold head high from twos game.

Otherwise, yeah, dunno.

Yeah agree with u Captain .... win or lose as long as they show the same intensity they demonstrated in the second half of the wet toast game I will be happy.

I would actually prefer it if we gave the ball to this galloping goose. He is without a doubt the most over rated player in the league. My labrador could kick the sherrin more effertively than this self important tossbag.

Agreed. He looks good when running and carrying the ball but turns it over a hell of a lot!
I think 1 J.Koschitke would give him a run in the 'most overrated player' category!

Out Garlett, are you serious? After a slow start he was in our best 5 last night - pushed up into the midfield to create pressue, superb palm down for murphy's goal. Played with the intelligence we are sorely lacking.

Am i the only one who loved seeing waitey playing loose man again? CHF Hendo, FF Hammer... waitey roaming all over the ground, playing loose man and drifting forward...

i think it is a confidence thing with supporters as well as players..and I find I'm lagging behind the boys a bit.
I guess I've come to realise that what I thought was a great team earlier this year, was probably a group of excellent AFL standard players, which 90% of all players in league are, when left without strong pressure and defensive work. I think I have to in retrospect apply this to the Saints and Cats games as well sadly.
I can't see how we will not fall down under Collingwood's relentless pressure.
It's not that the boys aren't good...it's just that they fall over when under pressure.
At least, that's what they have done...and how will that change in a week?
I have a bad case of the NN's...hopefully it will go..and I desperately want to be wrong. The great teams fight back, and win, when placed under great pressure. I haven't seen us do that.
It's not just a youth thing either..because C'wood have young players, and some skinny light bodies as well.
It's like..if we think we can't win..we just give up.
Please Blues..don't do that on Saturday.

The filth will belt Carlton by 10 goals plus. We should just play everyone in the back half of the ground and try to limit the damage with very winnable games against the scum and Richmond in the following two weeks.

Waite has to play fwd, only decent target, Hendo puts in but needs time, drops alot more than he takes.
Even though Hendo drops alot we need to make him more of an option inside 50, we kick to the small guys to much, their speed and evasive skills arent as dangerous when theyre the prime targets, they lose that element of surprise.
Yarran looked better playin up the ground, runnin with the ball, took a couple of nice marks in the defensive 50. Could he become our Harbrow or would that be a waste. he is lightning and nice kick.
Like to see Tuohy or Kerr have a crack.

Don't worry about tactics, forfeit the game so precentage will remain the same... they are very well drilled - their unrelentness pressure will kill us.

Play Collingwood man to man and we can win. Play a zone and they will smash us.

I'm tipping we will try the zone.

It was a win last night, but a very unconvincing one at that. I'm hoping we have realized the third quarter efforts are mandatory and non-negotiable from this point forward.

We can't get caught up in a closed in contested type of game or they'll kill us like last time.

We must knock the ball out in tight situations and keep the flow open to be competitive.

They're just too good in close. We need to keep the ball moving.

If by intelligence you mean continually taking his eye off the ball when receiving then I'd like to avoid his intellect wherever possible. Tackle count was down and conceded two frees. Gifted a couple of goals late to smooth over the fact that he should have had 6 to his name by game's end.

Collingwood will rip him a new one like they did last time because he will take his eye off the ball and lose the separation he has on his opponent as he attempts to recover possession. I'm a fan of Jeff but that is a basic concept of football; the elite players have a sense of what their next option is because they pay attention to their surroundings, not because look away from the ball in flight to get a sneak preview.

I'll probably mellow in my opinion during the week, but he had an average game in the scheme of things.

I remember it but if he goes double clutching every second possession again he will be torn apart by a better team. They won't drop him, but I think he needs a bake for that sort of play.

Just keep in mind he was kept to 4 possessions and a goal last time we played them.
