I think we'll still see Waitey up forward a bit, but we should give Hammer a decent go at the ruck/forward role.

If I was Fisher I'd be starting to think about other options next year. I'd liked to have seen him given a go playing out of the goalsquare but his prospects don't look to flash at Carlton.

Ease up.

You're sounding like Nostradamus.

You can't see his value on the FF line.
We just have to wait and see.

Don't let the team frustrate you so much...easier said than done I guess.

Didn't you see his efforts in the last quarter of the Sydney game? He took a few contested marks and started to look dangerous.

In one passage of play I actually saw him jump into a pack to take a mark..he missed but he actually split a pack. When was the last time we saw someone do that in FF at Carlton?

I think we may have something to work with up forward with him...

Robbo will bust his gut every week, but he needs to learn about playing smart team football. He doesn't heed coaches or teammates advice and hence has to go back to the Bullants to prove that he can do what's expected. That's the way it works.

As distinct from players who DO know how to do it but don't bother to put in the effort?
I'd rather have Robbo, thanks.

Took a couple of nice marks last week and if he stays at home they will have to man him up. His job will be to mark it or make sure it goes to ground. If he can do either, Garlett or Eddie will also kick some. Yarran seems to be getting his form a bit further out than before.

It's the Setanta formula with a different player. It can work but he HAS to play from the square.

Are some people on here stupid (bad question)?

We WALKED over these guys last time, now we're playing on a ground that will play to our strengths against a team w/ next to no backline.

Doom and Gloomers, I hate you all.

I don't see what Chris Johnson is going to do for us short or long term. If Davies was fit I would play him. I would play him ahead of Johnson even if the match up wasn't perfect. We will only make up the numbers if we make the finals anyway. Long term selection decisions are warranted given our last 2 month performance. At least Ellard is a plus

The only selection query I have had with this side is around an inside midfielder.
Grigg / Carrazzo have shown not to be able to do this currently, therefore I would have prefered to have seen Hadley in until McLean is ready. The inclusion of Ellard is very, very intriguing indeed. Good luck to the kid but boy are we depending a lot on a rookie!!

CJ has been obviously bought back for his run at Subi. I dare say this might be his last opportunity as well.

Johnson wasn't brought in to play defence.

I know Johnson has disappointed a few but I liked his last game before the wrist injury - thought he showed he could be a good player for us

then his bullants games have gotten better since coming back to the point someone remarked last week (or the week before?) that the game he played was the best they had seen from him. He deserves a go.

I agree. His form earlier this season was MUCH improved from last year. Think he's got a bit of a sniff of desperation and a bit of run and fire in his belly. Good luck Chris!

Just got tickets for myself and the young fella to go to the game.

Pretty pumped. I really want to see us come out breathing fire.

I did expect that last week  perhaps they were saving it for subi.

Lets hope so.

Chris Yarran to run amok and kick five.

Blues by 26pts.

Pretty simple really. He is playing well in the reserves and desreves a go.
That mantra should apply to any player on our list

Expecting a blinder from Carrots AJ and Gibbsy this week.

The 3 amigos should kick 15 between them.

To be honest I think we'll play great away from the soul sucking sand pit Etihad

Thats been in the back of my mind too.

We've played 7 of our last 8 there.

It was against Port where Johnson played well. He started putting his body on the line and showed some mongrel. The guy is playing for his career as is Ellard. Not bad choices when you need to fight from your backs against the wall. Warnock has a lot to prove too.

And the Melbourne game produced by far our best Quarter of any of those games (1st obv.), So I think we can bounce back

I think the surface has been playing on our players minds. They seem very hesitant and reluctant to attack in many instances and I believe the shifting surface has a lot to do with it.

Carlton to win ... are you kidding ... have you actually watched Carlton play the last couple of weeks ... the worst disposal skills in the league... don't get me get started on DECISION MAKING. Forget about coaching problems ... Rob Barrassi, Tom Hafey, Kevin Sheedy, David Parkin combined could not fix the problems with this mob.

Face up to it ... another 3 years in the cold if we are lucky.

By the way I thought Chris Johnson played a couple of good games earlier in the year before he was injured. He surprised me. Happy to see him get his chance.
