Lack of intensity.
Terrible skills, especially inside 50.
Inability to stick tackles.
Unwillingness to run hard, especially defensively.
Playing with no spirit.

Simply embarrassing to watch....

With Collingwood, Geelong and Freo away, at best will scrape into 8th a bit like Essendon* did last year. Maybe would've taken that at then stat of the year...maybe. But after being 7-4 it is shameful

fickle what you want,

I can understand yours and others' frustration but we supporters need to stick to the cause.
By all means vent your frustrations here on TC and to the club via an email, but let's not pathetically drop off at the rate the bummers fans have. We're better than that.

You'll sit at home and watch us win and then the next week attend the game and watch us lose.

Not smart.

Davies, ellard and wiggins better come in this week.

call wiggins what you will, yes it's going against the list development but if he takes the place of a established front running softcock like gibbs, murphy or heath "token effort' scotland simply becuase he plays with heart and pride in the jumper then so be it.

ratts either needs to go, or come out and try some moves and play some youth. Realise the season is virtually gone and show some balls.

eddie more time on ball, gibbs to full forward or the bullants to find some form.

play yarran off half back, while he still plays with intent and flair and doesn't get that coached out of him like the rest of the players.

ellard to replace lucas (poor bugger), davies in for AJ (who has been poor for god knows how long) and wiggins for Carrazzo/Scotland don't care who. make a statement.

maybe give warnock a run and rest sauce for a week. i'm not convinced on jacobs being anything more than servicable.

I'm a glass half full kinda guy and I cannot believe how we have let this season just ebb away so badly.

simmo, judd, army seem to be the only guys having reall dip with mentions for garlett, yarran, hampson and robbo who simply dont have a consistent impact on games yet.

the mojo has well and truly left our team.

can't beleive we beat geelong and stkilda comfortably.

Just got home from the pathetic game. I saw quite a few Blues Scarves and a few memberships thrown at the players as they were going up the race. Pretty bad but hopefully it wakes them up.

I will be going..but not exactly looking forward to Coll v Carlton.
I reserve the right to leave at quarter time if I wish.

Wow, that was truly insipid.

Over at quarter time and at half time a total of 3 goal is a complete joke.

We were smashed around the middle and the Swans just ran past us all day. We miss Kreuz much more than I thought we would with his 2nd and 3rd efforts on the deck. And the number of time we fumbled and got knocked off the ball was pathetic. Those who say Gibbs into the Pivot, well he did eff all in there today. Just a total disappointment.

Sad thing is thought we had a chance. Stuck it out to the end with my little bloke, but its hard work. Think we kicked 2 in a row twice for the entire game.

Forward line needs work and all starting in a row up the 50 clearly doesn't work. Also wouldn't hurt to play in front. Swans quick kick into the 50 and mark or brought to ground and crumbed for goal. CFC quick kick into 50 and Swans mark. Both teams had a loose man in defence, worked for them, not for us so change that - either extra blue in the middle (we could have used that) or someone manning up their sweeper or even providing a wide option.

That said to me wasn't the forward line that was the problem - we just got smashed around the ground. Swans 60 more disposals at 3 qtr time and it looked like more. Hard to kick goals if you never get it fwd. :hitcomputer:

Just hopeless on the overlap. Counted at one point 5 kick and marks without a handball for a total gain of about 40 metres before we coughed it up. WHERE IS THE RUN :banghead:

Anyway next game I get to attend will be the loss to Essendon* Enough to make you give up going. Lucky I'm a glass half full kind of guy.

On a positive (and I'm not feeling that way) Hammer did OK in the second half, kicked 2 and missed 2 very gettable one. Apart from that

Boys better bring there mouth guards again this week!!

Well that was fun. Felt like leaving at qtr time.

Read a few of the posts and a lot of people seem to be singling out individual players, umpires etc.

Not the issue! This has been growing for a while. We have the talent and we have the list to do better than we are doing. This is about the coach getting the message across to the players and the players trusting the coach. Not happening.

The first 5 minutes we were up and about but we couldn't crack the opposition defence. Last week we went long, this week we tried to go short. Our players are confused and lack trust. It is evaporating week by week.

Whether Ratten is a good coach is debatable BUT if he is not getting the message across he needs to go. Believe me when I say there are a number of unhappy players down at Visy Park and the list is growing.

A few glaring issues.

Tight contests are blowing out, when we lose we lose big.
Our talented kids are not progressing.
The set up changes every week.
Other sides have worked out our very simple game plan and are now exploiting it.
Too many excuses.
We lose to sides that have nowhere near the talent we have.

Ratten will last until the end of the year. Sticks hasn't the guts to do anything else to his 'mate'.

There needs to be a major review of the whole football department at the end of the year.

Apart from Ratten the entire coaching staff need to be questioned because we are going backwards. Bad loses to the Bulldogs, North, Swans and Freo mixed with an ordinary win against a very poor Brisbane.

Steven Ickes position needs to be reviewed. He was responsible for a poor Freo list and since coming to Carlton he has brought in Johnson and McLean!

It is important that this happens sooner rather later. With GC17 and GWS coming in we will not have the benefit of adding much to our list and we need to get the best out of what we have.

After a decade of crap, efforts like the last month cannot be tolerated!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On the rare occasion that we do get the ball; we either kick to a contest.....or to an opponent.....or to the feet of a team mate.....or over the team mate's head.

If we're free on the wing with the ball and running goalwards......we kick the ball out of bounds.....or kick the ball to a crowded goal square.....or telegraph a handpass which is swept away.......NOBODY makes space and leads for a pass.

Walker.....Joseph, and Carrazzo get the ball and freeze like deer in the headlights; and get pinged for holding the ball.....and the opposition know that and take advantage.

Etc, etc.......... :banghead:

Is it too much to ask for some commitment to the cause? The number of times there were swans running through and our guys were trotting after them was abysmal.

The players do not appear to have the instincts to latch onto their opponents if they get a run on. Stuff the loose man, if the opposition are running at will, its basic footy to find a man and stop their run, then work off. These guys do not know the meaning of effort. This is where the coaches need to take the blame.

Let Walker, Joseph, Carazzo have a rest and bring in some new players who want to show that they have some gumption and want to impress. Couldn't get any worse.

I actually thought our intensity was a tiny bit better this week...but our skills were terrible. The amount of times we kicked or handballed straight to a Swans player when not under pressure was simply unnacceptable. We are all aware of the deficencies in our game plan but the amount simple disposals we stuff up is a worry.

I am worried for the future of our club. The players seem ridiculously low on confidence and unhappy. I can easily see things snowballing out of control with the combination of unhappy players and poor coaching and recruiting.

Leave Judd out of it as he is our only leader and again tried his guts out but the rest of our senior players/leaders have let us down big time - jamison hasnt played a good game for 6 weeks -waite keeps getting reported -carrazzo one of my favourites has been ordinary recently as has russell -simpson has had a good season but has been down recently -thorton is struggling to keep his position in the team- scotland and houlihan havent been bad thnis year but dont really give any leadership - murphy gibbs the next tier of leadership have been not as good this year than last -mclean another seasoned player doesnt get on the park and hadley is in and out
- all these players need to show leadership - not when you are 5 goals up against brisbane but 4 goals behind sydney in the first quarter
Apart from Judd does anyone hit in hard after we are a couple of goals down -by hit hard I dont mean elbow someone in the head but make sure the other side doesnt waltz out of centre with the ball

What I dont get is that most of these guys have for most of their carreers been handed out some wwoeful smashings and I really dont know why when we have a better side they dont want vengeance against these sides that have been handing out smashings to us for years
