Ellard probably deserves a game but it would be at the expense of Grigg. Over their time at the club I'd say Grigg has shown more potential, particularly pre-season last year before injury. As horrible as he was a couple of weeks ago I'd be happy to see him get a few games in the ones to settle at the level. But then again it's decision time on Ellard in 6 weeks and he deserves a chance to show what he's got. Carrazzo could go back to the Ants not to return until he plays an entire game without a u-turn.

Argue with the umpire while your opposition is whisking the ball away to a team mate.....he was the worst for morale.

Yeah ur right and Thornton is right up there with him...if not slightly ahead..

why 1 of ellard or davies is not playing has got me absolutely stuffed!

After last weeks appalling effort, and grigg's stinker last time out, surely one of these kids deserves a crack! IMO Grigg was given a chance a stunk it up, why not give one of these kids a crack, you know that they will give 100%. Which can't be said for quite a few boys lately

Also thought Warnock deserved a crack this week. Hampson has shown very little so far.

For all the talk about the MC finally growing some marbles, its pretty poor to not give a kid a crack. If they can't get a crack now, when will they? Will it be only when we are smacked by injury??
From a very exciting extended bench to a pretty disappointing team.

I don't think its the players playing without confidence. It seems to me the coaching panel doesnt have confidence in the team. I know they have dropped Thornton and Setanta but they aren't the only out of form players. You have to have confidece in your list that if you pick inform players they will do a job. Assuming Houlihan is really injured, 2 changes in a team that was deplorable shows either too much faith in the players already in the team or not enough iin those out of the team.

I don't expect Ratts to make any changes he does not have to in the near future. He's gone into his shell and will ...

a) persist withnwhatever style of footy he's been trying to drill into the guys because if he changes he'll be critisised
b) not drop stars or too many established players because if it does not come off he'll be critisised .i.e if Ellard plays and has a shocker and they dropped say Scotland or Carrots to make room for him, Ratts will get bent over by the supporters and media.

If things continue to deteriorate (say lose the next 2) then expect him to make the big calls and play more up and commers.

This is my problem with Ratts, I'm not sure he's completely centred at the moment.

Would have loved to see Ellard come in for Robinson. He's been a model of consistency in the Ants and worked hard to earn a crack. If Ratts is fair dinkum re his comment on dropping blokes who have 7 bad quarters in a row or something, then Carrots, Robbo etc maybe about to give him his chance ?

They beat Brisbane in round 6 when the Lions were 5-1....

What?

Carrots beat Rich one week ago.

Ellard isn't capable of playing Robinson's role.

Surely there's going to be a late change. I can see absolutely no reason why they would have elevated Ellard off the rookie list, and then not actually give him a go.

As long as he remembered to buy the ky :yikes:

Not sure about all the selection conspiracy theories.....while it's always interesting to see how a first year or rookie player performs at the top level, the Swans play a physical contested style of footy, Grigg, Robbo and Army pick themselves.

couldn't think of a worser team to come up against being in a mentally fragile state that our team is in right now.

the Swans have given away least amount of disposals, marks and contested ball then any other team this year. Its gonna be a test for our guys coming up against well drilled, well coached seasoned side in Paul Roo's Swans.

we couldn't compete with the bulldogs who played a lovely outside game, so imagine how we gonna cop with the swans will holding us up and use there supreme dash off half back. i'd hate to think what will happen if we drop this one

and i have the feeling we will.
