Not something usually associated with Carlton sides but I can't help but this year man for man think we're not a hard at the contest as most other sides. I think we have a dip and give it our all in matches but we just seem to lack some physicality.

We are with out a doubt the biggest bunch of Soft Cocks in the league

After watching Geelong play the Hawks on saturday then to turn around 24hrs later and watch the tripe we dished up it was embarassing to watch

Daisy Thomas looks tuff compared to some of our blokes

melted butter, marshmallows you name it...

Were trying to show were tough by bumping players around stoppages but all were doing is giving away free kicks but its putting your body on the line and hard in at the ball is what we lack.

Hawthorn and North showed how soft we were.

Would love a Campbell Brown type, goes in hard at the ball, hard at the contest, love the way he plays footy.

SOFT is too nice a work.

We are a bunch of pampered mummys boys is what we are

We are the softest club in the AFL, make no mistake about that.

I am furious.

not enough willing to get themselves dirty, stand around the packs watching the other team dive in.

Have you ever seen Carlton play?

Ratten was shown tearing strips off Hampson last week.

Mentally we are one of the weakest sides going around, so yes we are mentally soft. Physically I don't think any player that crosses the line is soft, some are just more courageous than others.
Our issue is once we lose momentum we very rarely get it back.

Yep. At the moment we're performing softer than a kid in a Cuddly commercial.

Campbell Brown, Luke Hodge, Joel Selwood, Brett Kirk, Jonathan Brown et al... who on our list can you see grabbing a game by the scruff of its neck like those guys can? Whether its a pack mark, or just putting your body on the line to help a mate, much less win the footy, we just don't have guys able or willing to do that. Or so it would appear.

Judd can get the ball out, that's no problem, and so can Hodge, but Hodge will take a bullet for any of his teammates. Would Judd?

I'm not sure what training is done to build team ethos and I know you can’t just make someone overtly courageous, but are we at least having a bloody crack at trying to get these show ponies to learn how to pull their fingers out when its not going their way?

When we're good, we're very, very good. When we're bad we are just plain embarrassing. You can cop poor disposal and crap like that, but the worst is watching and knowing there is no player in a navy jumper that cares enough to make a @#$%&! stand.

That's an unusual reaction for you.

Do opposition players shiit themselves at any time during a game?

Are they worried about a hard driving tackle if the don't dispose of the ball in time?

Are they worried about being poleaxed if they run into our space?

Are they worried about retaliation if they rough up one of our own?

A big resounding @#$%&! NO to all of the above for mine.

Of course we're not soft.....

unmotivated
lifeless
hopeless
dispirited
lazy

yes......

Soft no.

Because I've seen us this year put everything on the line to win every contest in the game.

I've been wavering for while, Ratts is a great bloke and would be a great assistant, but he's a lemon as number 1.

Havent copped a spray at work like I did today for at least 2 yrs!

Amazing how cruel opposition supporters can be...and unfortunately they're right.

We are weak as cats p!ss and Richmond will smash us.

unfortunately yes, but its more the soft option that dissappoints me, not to tackle, block, chase, harass, body in front, Kenny Hunter tough , you know. We are definetly at the stage no matter who is coaching that we have to decide who needs to go, .

Either, if you cant kick you dont get a game,

or

if you dont tackle etc, you dont get a game , I think this is Hardwicks mentality.

I dont think we can do both at the moment as there may be no one left, but the worse thing is seeing terrible disposal AND a lack of toughness.

I think half the problem is the tougher guys on our list are the same guys who commit most of the clangers.

We sure are.... and opposition teams know it and play against us accordingly... they know that we'll either crumble under physical preasure, or retaliate with undisciplined actions... what ever happened to those 'Harden the f*ck Up' wristbands we supposedly had last year...

I certainly agree that opposition sides with any backbone at all will be targeting us for the rest of the year. The pack can smell fear and they can't wait to play us.

Yes we are soft.

That's what you'd expect when you select class from the draft.
Because they are 17-18yo when they are picked we have no idea how tough they'll turn out to be.

Grigg was a good selection in terms of hardness and toughness, but can't kick or handball with any assurance.

We're in a bit of a bother at the moment. We can't turn back the hands of time.
We can select the tough and skilled each week instead of the insipid.

How's Bettsy's form after he's given a $1M contract. WTF is that effort on the weekend?

SOFT.

The KLEENEX 22...coming to a ground near you.

They're cuddly soft. Also they wipe the tears from your eye.

They'll give you plenty of tears.
