Johnson could barely walk last weekend. Will be amazed if they play him.

Hmmmm......not sure about our selections at the moment? Getting away from the structure that worked so well earlier against Geelong & St Kilda. Grigg unlucky and I would of had Lucas in as well. Happy Bower is back though.

Just kick the thing long into the forward line, please!!!! :banghead:

I don't disagree, (if you'll excuse the double negative), but if you would've had Lucas in and possibly Grigg as well,
who would you've dropped?

Just curious.

AJ and Thornton for starters...

Setanta vs Lake
Hendo vs Morris
Hampson vs Williams

Wouldnt actually mind seeing Thornton vs Lake if Setanta fails to have an impact.

I recon they actually have our talls covered...we need a big contribution from our small forwards who i dont think they have good match ups for except Harbrow

I reckon we have one tall too many. Thornton is the man that i would not play and would have a good running player in his place.
It looks like thornton is in for insurance which is not really a way i would go but i am sure those in charge have more information than me.

Maybe Bower wont play and Lucas or Grigg will.

Bower can play small too as a half back flanker.

I wouldn't be too worried about who can play negative forward against Lake.

With Hahn out, and Johnson highly unlikely, I reckon Lake will play CHF.

They will back Williams, Morris and Hargreaves against our tall forwards.

Well we could do with a bit more run.

..with who's avaliable, i don't mind Thorny stayin' in.. ..i reckon he's our best 3rd defender.. ..last season he was oustanding at intercepting opposition F50 entries.. ..he is however, slow to move it on.. ..but players like Army, Walker and AJ should be trained to run past him, for the sideways give which is almost the first thing Thorny will look for.. ..with Thorny and Russell reading the play so well, the other runners can carry it forward with pace.. ..by foot.. ..i think we look the best when we run it out from half-back.. ..i don't think we need Gibbs back there at all.. ..he's good there, but thats cos he's good.. ..he'd be better center/foward of center..

i agree with you mil in regards to lucas.
lucas should be playing the sweeping role across half back,
it frees up gibbs straight away.
i also think that white should be playing.
need o'hailpin to play well, if he doesn't he should have a spell with the ants!!!

Having Gibbs in the backline makes our defense 10% better. His clean hands and decision making is far superior to anyone else in our team. We are a lot more stable with him there and that explains why we win lots more games with him there than we do when he plays midfield. He is a fine midfield player but as a team we are better with him in defense.

I would continue to play him there but i am not against moving him up the ground later in games once the tone has been set and all the other mids on the field are beginning to tire.

I hope he plays tomorrow.

He's in the photos from training on Wednesday, so hopefully he's over it if he was ill in any way.

That gastro is going around. Leaves you pretty fatigued for a week. Hopefully the club have some miracle cures.
If he did have it and does play i would expect him to be a little flat.

Really don't understand dropping a player (Grigg) after only one game.
There's always the chance that someone named is not really playing I suppose, hope so for Griggs sake.

Really hope Thornton can be productive, but geez..... :?

Anyway, GO BLUES!!!!!

Why is it certain that Bower will play? He was struggling mid week and has pulled out a few times already this year. 3 games in 14 rds to date, hardly instills confidence, does it?

Lucas in still must be a possibility.

Sure Grigg is stiff, but Lucas just too good to leave in the VFL given his form and the flexibility he brings to the team.

If anything, I'd have White in for T-Bird, but his time will come.
