Time for a phone call to Mr Gieschen this week.

Ratts should have a standing weekly appontment until we get clarification of every issue and the umps get some understanding of what our boys are putting up with.

Some of the decions against us have been so marginal these past weeks. We need to have the umpires not killing us all the time.

Looks like McPhee can consider himself very lucky ... then again so can Juddy.

System to find right punishment for Baker, but not for the ones that got away

Quote:
He also might not have expected this level of punishment from a match review panel that last week didn't feel it could suspend the gentlemanly Chris Judd. Baker might be a Saint, but not saintly

Quote:
The non-citing of the Carlton skipper was a rogue decision that should have been over-ruled by Adrian Anderson at the time and sent to the tribunal.

Judd is lucky....very lucky, and if he does get sighted in the future, they will pay out on him.

Yes Juddy was lucky, but I'm tipping he's not silly enough to get himself cited anytime soon.

..i disagree, i think he's definately silly enough to do something silly enough to get cited.. ..elim final last year remember.. ..if we had won, and gone ahead in the finals it would've been without him.. ..not exactly clever thinking.. ..love the Judd, but his elbow back at the Pav was deliberate, and not 'clumsy'.. ..more-so, in the heat of the moment, frustrated during the game, any player no matter how controlled might do something silly..

this is where I disagree - viewing the incident - I think Juddy threw a fist at Pavo's arm to free himself and the elbow accidently made light contact with Pav's cheek.

That's my view too Danny....he was lucky not to go for something like negligent or reckless contact, but the hysteria by the media about it is way over the top. If it wasn't for the cut under the eye we wouldn't even be discussing it.

When you look at the image of the game that Judd projects to kids and the image that Baker projects it's pretty obvious the difference in penalties.

Yeah he was lucky in the Elimination Final against Brisbane as well.

What do they say about swings and roundabouts - this is definitely the better one of those.

Agree as well. Pavlich was holding Judd down preventing him from getting up to continue playing. He has a right to free himself from an illegal tackle. The fact he made reckless and unintentional contact is unfortunate, and maybe it should have been cited, but I'm ok with the fact he got off
given the circumstances.
