Apples with Apples Ask Shaun Rehn as he's was a ruckman. His first knee reco of 3 was when he was mid 20's before Adelaide Premiership years.

Round 10 next season it is then. :(

Waite did his in late May of 09 and came back for round 1.

No reason why Kreuz cant be back for round 4-5 in 2011 assuming he opts for the traditional methods.

Waite wasn't quite right in the first few rounds. We will go a slightly more conservative approach for a bloke who is still building his body.

They are shoulder injuries. The game was robbed of a superstar when David Schwarze did his knee.

In answer to if he will ever be the same, he will probably need to adjust his playing style but I think he will be fine and may play more up forward. Lets hope Hammer and Warnock can rip it up so he can give us an extra dimension next year.

He will be hampered for a time, but I see little reason why he can't make a full recovery, assuming the surgery is done properly, and the rehab is done correctly.

Schwarz got absolutely [REDACTED] over the first time around; I have been told about the process he went through and Melbourne went through. The 90s ACL surgeries combined with lax rehab methods sounded like a horror show.

Sometimes players never come back the same after serious injury. If it's such a stupid thread then don't post in it. Simple.

I thought SOS was out due to an ankle.

He was out for 12 months.

I'm sure he'll come back just fine and be a much stronger unit when he does.

Best of luck for the rehab big fella.

SOS did a knee in 1991 then had ankle problems in 1992. Add a badly torn hamstring in 1989 and we were basically robbed off his services in 3 seasons. 1990 he was injury free and should've won the Brownlow. Now that Kreuzer is out I would play both Warnock and Hampson ahead of Jacobs. We need to find out over the next 9 weeks who is going to be a long term prospect.

You're quite right Captain Obvious, my bad for posting in one of your simpleton threads. It won't happen again.

Well, if a thread doesn't interest you, or you think it is "stupid", then don't waste everyone's time with your irrelevant comments by veering the topic astray. Nobody holds a gun to your head to post in it, nor do you have to keep coming back to have the last word. If you don't like a topic, don't read it, move on.

Back onto the topic....

Agree. One aspect that will leave a gaping hole however is the overhead skills of Kreuzer. Warnock isn't built enough yet to take the big grabs and Hampson just needs to develop a little more. If we're going to find out anything over the next 9 weeks, I hope it is whether Warnock was well worth it or not.

My heart sank, I couldn't believe my eyes. Sad night for the big fella, sad night for the boys.
Watching him get helped off the ground, there's no words to describe the emotions I was feeling.
Do everything you need to do big fella, come back stronger.

You would hope Kuerzer would be the same when he comes back but we have seen with ruckman like Shaun Rehn that sometimes that it not the case.

I saw him grab his knee straight away and knew it was the worst. I just yelled "NOOOOOOOOOO:. My mate looked at me like I'd lost the plot. Then I said "Kreuz is gone mate"... he just responded with "shit"..... summed it up nicely really.

All the best for recovery big fella. As Ratts said, there s no-one with a better attitude and commitment to overcome this, and I reckon he is right. Kreuz will be back just as good as he was always wanted to be, because he wants it more than any other bloke around

A repaired ACL is never as strong, never will be as strong, thus the increased risk of re-rupture. AFL history is littered with players who have had more than one reconstruction.

The experience with LARS surgery is very positive to date, but as Jimmae says, Krooze has got a long career ahead of him, and there's certainly no urgency to rush him back. Even with LARS he wouldnt be back this season. but he could manage a full preseason for 2011. With the standard operation he wont be back for 12 months, mid 2011. There's not enough data to be comfortable about LARS just yet, especially as applied to such a young elite player

The fact that its his left knee is a real positive in my view. The two biggest problems after repair of ACL rupture are lateral movement and leap. Kouta lost his leap, no doubt about that, as many players do, when their dominant leg is affected. Almost all players jump off their dominant leg (his right). Waitey still appears to have a good leap because he did his left knee.

This may be a small positive to come out of a miserable situation.

Good luck Krooze
