No to Gibbs on Pavlich....struggled to play on Brad Green and Pavlich in basketball terms would just post him up and outmark him given his stronger build. Prefer to see Bower or maybe Walker get the job.

Bingo Elwood, Tex would be perfect for Pav. He has a bit to prove from last week's shocker, too. Just do it MC! Bower a good option too, I think we're well placed to keep him under control.

Heard Ratts on radio mention Hampson and Warnock being up for selection and Kreuzer going forward.
I tip
Out; Browne, Setanta, Robbo (inj), Thornton
In; Yarran, Hampson, Lucas, Bower

So it's the players fault for having no forward line.

This article suggests Bower is a certainty (thank god) and Yaz, Lucas, Warnock and McLean are in "line" for a recall

Yarran is by far our most important inclusion. If he can recapture his pre-injury form we will be far better off than we have been.

Agree - I would add Bower as well - as with Bower in it will allow Gibbs to play in the Midfield

The boys were horrible against the Roos, although I thought their rate and quality of play lifted significantly when Gibbs was thrust in the middle.

IMO its a waste having Gibbs play off HB

I've seen nothing from Big K this year that suggests he will be a good forward. He is struggling in the ruck and looks more like he needs a rest. I suspect Ratts mentions Warnock as being in the frame so his recruitment looks less of a monumental error. I'd love Hammo back in and I'd consider Big K getting a rest.

I'd also consider Waite going back. He didn't have a great game on the weekend and his opponent got lots of the ball. One problem is that Waite, Setanta and Hendo are all third talls. I'd stick with Setanta for one last go and abandon the game plan of having him stationary. We need our forwards moving, and we need to get the ball in quickly. Gibbs in the middle, that is where games are won and lost and that's where you put your best guys.

I think Fev showed on the weekend that it doesn't matter how much talent you have, if your side is getting done it is hard to get a kick up forward. We have set up structures that have been reasonably effective. I'd be inclined to keep changes to a minimum - bring in Bower and Yarran if their form is good, and Hammo for Tbird to allow Waite to go back, and Big K to go forward, although I wouldn't mind Big K being rested and Hendo coming back in. Actually I also had Browne and AJ for the chop - so much for keeping changes to the minimum. I thought Browne looked way to slow, even tho Ratts is a great fan of his toughness and AJ was thrashed, but particularly showed woeful discipline. Try getting physical with your opponent when he has the ball Aaron not when the ball is dead and the umpire watching.

Judd on Before the Game last week said Yarran was in the mix and Ratten today said Bower would come back ...

so I have

In: Yarran, Bower, (also Lucas one would presume)

Out: Browne, ?? Thornton,Armfield or someone else...

Lucas in for Browne
Bower in for Thornton
Yarran in for Joseph
Hendo in for Robbo
Hammer in for Jacobs
Grigg in for Hadley

Will never happen but would be nice....
Hammer would be alot better around the ground and Jacobs tap work would be non existent
Joseph needs a spell
Browne & Thornton have only been filling in
Robbo(inj) but does lack composure at times
Hadley as much as hes done some in & under work he is far too slow, often left for dead......
Grigg deserves a crack after a month of performing in the Ants

little man told me that the blues were playing jacobs before warnock and hampson, for one reason, come trade time.
hampson and warnock will be long time players with kreuzer, and there is good currency with playing jacobs.
little man tells me not to tell anyone!!!!!

I doubt we'll see 6 changes. 3 or 4 perhaps.

Very tough one for the MC this week, but I'll have a stab at....

Armfield Jamo JR
Scotland Bower Tex
Simmo Hadley Gibbs
Hoops Hendo Carrots
Betts Waite Yarran

Kreuzer Judd Murphy

Garlett, Jacobs, Lucas, Robbo

OUT - AJ, Browne, Carlos, T-Bird
IN - Bower, Hendo, Lucas, Yarran

If we didn't have the break coming up, I'd be very tempted to rest Kreuzer and bring in Hammer. The Big K looks like he could do with a week off at the moment...

Brock & Grigg are certainly in the mix for selection too, but I don't think they can be said to be better options than Hadley just at the moment.

I love AJ & Carlos, but I think they both need a spell back in the VFL.

And I'm assuming that Robbo and Betts (who looked sore late in the game last week) will come up. If not, Ellard should be seriously looked at IMO...

Just remember our ruckmen are young and they will fill out.
Well Jacobs might not fill out more, but will get stronger.

Remember Sandilands as a string bean?
Imagine what Warnock will be like when he puts on another 5kg of muscle.
He wont get any shorter and ne will always be 206.
