Ever since the Port game. Were flat as to start that, terrible against Hawthorn, average against West Coast, started well against Melbourne...helped by them giving away the dumb free kicks we gave away tonight...and woeful tonight.

I'm hoping we're going through a heavy training load...I also thought we were just coming off short breaks against Port and Hawthorn...but our inability to get up for games is a concern at the moment.

wowee... any side that allows lindsay thomas to get 7 posessions is struggling, a side that allows him to kick 7 goals is REALLY struggling! :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

There's probably a couple of other issues.
V Port we came off a really short break, then got 2 injuries (I think in the first half).
V Hawthorn, we were already tired from the previous 2 games, brought in 3 under-done players (Browne, Hadley and McLean had hardly played in the previous 3 weeks), then we got 3 injuries by halfway though the second quarter.
V WC reckon we were still exhausted from our previous 3 weeks, but we did enough.
V Melbourne, we were decent except for the third quarter where it started to pour, and we weren't prepared for it while they were

Lets demote Kreuzer, Robinson and O'hAilpin using over the top arguments,"Is constantly beaten in the the ruck", "They're the worst kick in the AFL" and "Has been out of form for a while".

Joseph had his worst game, but spanked Milne this year.

Our alleged supporters can also be labelled soft and downhill skiers.

And fickle with a short memory.

I'm glad your emotional and shaky hands aren't on the tiller.

Blame the umpires? get off it. Piss weak undisciplined effort from the Blues. if you don't get to the ball first and won't keep your feet or run hard the other way you will not win against a team which is working hard.

Kangas wanted this game, too many Blues (except Simpson as usual) didn't want to work for it.

This is a furphy that I've been seeing all night: he's kicked a bag of 5-5 this season against Fremantle.

Smart player who I rated pre-draft, but like another decent player Robbie Gray, had serious issues with his disposal. Give him that much opportunity near goal though, and he will burn you eventually.

I didn't see the game but from Twitter updates i saw in the 1st quarter I could tell it would be ugly.

WTF is wrong with us? I am so tired of this insipid excuse for football we roll out every 3 weeks.
Clearly our club psych has some work to do! We also can't handle being a few goals down and freak out.

It's just not good enough, we need to beat these sorts of teams if we want to talk ourselves up as finals contenders which we do EVERY time we win 2 in a row.

Just knew we'd put in a shit effort tonight, had that feeling all week. Plus as soon as someone talks us up like Walls did in The Age we fall down.

Can someone tell me who actually put in the effort tonight? Besides the umps?

And what's the injury situation?

1. Waite, Betts, Gibbs, Jacobs, Hadley were our better players.
Muprh, Simmo and Judd were ok too.

2. Betts went off in the last quarter, apparently with some sort of knee injury, Reports of Judd limping off too.

I agree to an extent. All teams young an old have had ups and downs this season but you are right inconsistancy of effort is a trait of younger teams like ours. In time i think we will iron out this crease but it is frustrating that we cant just do it now.

As i said in an earlier post, if we work hard on our difficiences we can turn our form around just like the Roos have done.

.......hang on a minute Ratts didnt say that at all !

the thing is, North Melbourne's side younger than ours on average, and less experience than our side on average. And they don't have a bunch of no 1 draft picks.

Who cares? Players are erratic and so are supporters, so what? :? Isn't finding the right mix part and parcel of the game? It is not a moral judgement. Players can have their good points and still not be favoured by fans. Conversely, players may or may not be superstars and/or in need of a rest but that does not mean they are not liked. It's okay to want players back but not to want others dropped, that does not add up. To be perfectly frank, I personally don't think there is room for Joseph given who should be due back next weak, however, he'll probably get picked but I'm sure I'll get over it.

Think the forward line ultimately must be built around Henderson at FF, Kruezer at CHF, Yarran and Eddie. Around this nucleus O'halphin, Waite, Garlett, Houlihan, Garlett, Walker and even Gibbs to suit specific match-ups.
Neither Kruezer or Henderson have dominated in these positions but they're the only possiblities on the list to become Genuine Key Forwards. Waite is competent up forward but i think he'll forever be a swing-man.
O'halphin should be list back-up but the future and next premiership will come from Henderson or kruezer (hopefully both) dominating the forward 50.
Playing 2 ruckmen as well as Kruezer could leave us a little top heavy meaning Hampson's development is extremely important. Warnock or Sauce will fight out for 1st ruck and 2nd has to be Hampson to give that mobilty around the ground.

Think this post belongs here because forward structure wasn't flash tonight.

Umpiring very poor but no way did not cost us the match
We just were not turned on for some reason....Nth were,
Ratts was out coached for one of the few times this year
Betts awesome but can not do it by himself ,something has to be done about the forward structure
Jacobs massive pro for mine with him and Kruze we are looking good in big man dept, why we traded for Warnock I do not know
Gibbs must play in the middle all the time.
Jordan's poorest game of the year , if only he held his marks, however thats ok we all have bad days at the office
Prey Judd and Betts are A OK
Some players not up to it but this number is a lot less than previous years and those not up to it will go
In all a bad display but we are still in the 8 and now I have time to do the garden as I wont be watching the reply 17 times over the weekend
