Someone needs to remind who their coach is and how welcome he is in Ireland.

I still remember watching this game in 2008.

http://www.blueseum.org/tiki-index.php?page=Round+20%2C+2008

Brent Harvey absolutely killed us that day. Who can we expect to have tagging him tonight ?.

And in last years meeting we got up by 10 points and Judd didnt get any votes what so ever. Expect to see good things from him tonight !!!

You can pretty much tell within the first 5 minutes if our guys are switched on or not. If we are, it'll be a pasting, if not expect a loss ala the Hawthorn game.

With the exception of the Port game if we're not firing in the first quarter we get done.

Boomer ran AJ off his legs the last time we met last year. He beat AJ soundly for pace and stamina and AJ was looking very very ill when he went to the bench for a rest/chunder.

Army first crack, maybe with a chop out from AJ if he needs it.

Thw Walls article in todays Age is fantastic. The part where he writes that Russell and Gibbs encourage Armfield to run the lines whilst they back him up and cover his opponent. That's understanding and great team work.

Thats very interesting. The way I've seen it is Army does a fair bit of covering for everyone else by chasing their man.

bondi the part about GIBBS and JR telling Army to run was actually in the Hun article.

Thanks for picking that up DUC.

The reference to the 'backing up' was definetely in the HUN.
Great article too!!!

Carazzo has been doing the midfield tagging job every week so surely he gets first crack at harvey, and AJ for backup?

That little cauliflower gets us every time!

Carrots will probably go to Harvey but I wouldn't rule out Browne having a crack at him. That would allow AJ to stay in defence on Thomas or Campbell and allow Carrots to be another attacking midfielder.

Thomas & Campbell annoy me almost as much as that pest & (imo) serial diver Ballantyne at Freo. From the small number of infractions of this type in 2010, I'm thinking the umpires (& coaches) are on to this.
Go Blues!

Nth Melbourne are rubbish. Can see this one turning into a niggly game though. Hopefully Robinson and Waite don't lose the plot...

Be surprised if one guy gets the job on Harvey - it's Harvey's pace. combined with his stamina, that has destroyed us for a while. I know Carrots had the job on Davey last week but Davey doesn't tend to hurt his tagger by his running off the ball like Harvey does. I still remember watching Harvey in that '08 game where we got pummelled - before one centre bounce, he did a full lap of the centre square at 90% in the third quarter to shake the tag, the ball was bounced, he ran into the middle (I forget who was left trailing him in the distance) and got the footy. We should look at rotating a few guys on him - AJ, Army, Russell all have the pace if not the tanks.

All that said, we should have too much of the footy to be hurt by any one player. I've got the Blues in streak tipping this week - I'm hoping we've learnt to use confidence for good not whatever it is we served up vs the Dons.
