..yeah, happy with the change.. ..Army's a definate i reckon.. ..and Joey's not yet up to it.. ..Browne's a better prospect, and he can play fwd, mid or back so he's far more versatile too..

It may sound silly, but perhaps we're also getting to the stage where players are playing to the structure and it doesn't matter who plays the role anymore so players are more interchangable.

Definitely silly; let's go to the trading block and cash in on said silliness.
I probably won't get much support for this, but I would've preferred Joey to stay in and Browne to come out, rather than the other way round. I think there's a little bit more to work with in Joey, he just needs the backing of the coach and the confidence. Was good the last few weeks until the rain came last week. A little harsh to be dropped really. Not saying Browne has done much wrong either, mind you.
I agree :thanks:

I'm starting to get nervous about this one.

Being a shit team was easier. You expected to lose.
This is more fun though.

Armfield is a very handy inclusion. The half back line of Russell, Walker & Armfield looks terrific and we should be able to destroy Nth Melb tomorrow nite.

Dead right hotcox.

It's a thrill to see a HB line like that and know what they are capable of, what they are likely to do, and what they will execute because the level of consistency and cohesion between them is witnessed week in week out.

Thw Walls article in todays Age is fantastic. The part where he writes that Russell and Gibbs encourage Armfield to run the lines whilst they back him up and cover his opponent. That's understanding and great team work.

We're getting there, and if we can get of each week's challenge and improve by another 10% over the next 12 weeks...well it's more than finals that we will be playing for.

Thats very interesting. The way I've seen it is Army does a fair bit of covering for everyone else by chasing their man.

There is no reason why we can't win comfortably tonight.

There is absolutely no reason why we shouldn't be able to win 3 in a row going into the break.

If the players and coaches don't turn up switched on tonight and play with sone hardness, then I will be bitterly disappointed.

Having positive media articles or having Ratts talk up a match or talk it down or having James Hird or Robert Walls bag us or praise us should have NO IMPACT on a professional unit. It's a pathetic excuse even if in a wry jest.

Just go out there and flowering win it Blue Boys!

Setanta and Eddie must lift.
Armfield has been given a free pass back into the team and needs to show run and grit.

Thornton played well last week and must maintain that focus.
Murphy and Gibbs and Hadley to tackle hard and not let them take control in the midfield.

Need to get use to playing with good stories in the press. Need to not allow that to effect how we play or how opposition play.

I'm sure when we are playing for No. 17, there may be one or two stories in the paper of GF Week.

What is Browne's role exactly? I have been to the last 2 games but havent really noticed him ....maybe he'd make a good umpire?

Midfield & high half-forward; he was originally covering for Houlihan & Yarran.

Crappy day in Melbourne today. Watching it on the box tonight.

Happy to see Army back but sad to see Andersons feet lopped from under him again.

Go blues!!!!

You can pretty much tell within the first 5 minutes if our guys are switched on or not. If we are, it'll be a pasting, if not expect a loss ala the Hawthorn game.
