I'll trade Warnock for a 3rd round pick in a flash.

How could you argue with such a compelling argument?

He's worth too much and no one can afford him.

I'm not convinced about the "can't keep all four ruckmen" idea that seems to be widely accepted
in this thread. I think that, all other things being equal, the thing that makes a player want to seek
greener pastures elsewhere is the feeling that they're not being a given a go to show their talents.

Can anyone argue that any of our ruckmen haven't had a chance to prove their worth this year?

Hammer has only just come back from injury, so I can't see how he's got any cause for complaint.

Sauce is currently in the 22 as is Kreuzer, so they're happy.

Warnock has played senior games and was dropped for poor form. I would hope his attitude is to work
as hard as he can to get back. I would be surprised and disappointed if he was thinking "oh no, I can't
get a game - better go to another club". Players who think like that end up nowhere.

So barring off field factors, (a go-home or megabuck offer ...), I don't see it as likely that any of
them would want to leave in the next couple of years.

To me, it's always about value to us versus market value - it's as simple as that. Four ruckman is about right but it boils down to what our greatest need (although I hate the word) may be at the end of the day and what the best method is to get the job done. What I like to see happening is when weaknesses become strengths but that does not mean we need to become all possessive about it. There's plenty of water to go under the bridge in the meantime.

No chance 4 ruckmen ready to go will stay and play with the Ants when they can get a game elsewhere. We may get over at the GC with someone like like Hampson as there's no way they want to put a skinny 18yo as their ruckmen. They'll need one ready to go hence they may use one of the plethora of first round picks to take him. For a first round pick i'd do it instantly rather than keep him banking on a so-called "upside", which i'm not that sure about. The other back-ups are as good. Warnock will be very good over time as he develops, especially with that height.

..knocked back port's offer of 9, so you'd be thinking we either won't trade him at all, or.... ..it's gotta be an awesome offer..

Yep, having 4 ruckmen doesn't look so stoopid now.

4 ruckmen on the list is fine, but we need to get value while we can instead of leaving one of the four to rot. Then we draft another, the cycle repeats.
