Extremely lucky to win that one. From memory they missed countless opportunities at goal in the last quarter.

As long as we respect them as an opposition and bring our A game, you'd expect a win. I'll be happy with any win but if we get the opportunity to bury them, hopefully we do. Physically smashing their captain (legally) wouldn't hurt my feelings either

game to be won in the first quarter exactly like against the Dees

if we are serious, as a side, then there is just no way we can lose this game. these are the games we should be winning, even when we are playing poorly.

Hansen is improving nicely.

We should be too strong all over the ground.

This is very similar to the melb game.
If we come in with the same intensity and work ethic, we'll win it in the first 1/4.
If we don't, it'll be a 4 quarter slog and thats what this team loves.

The adleaide and brisbane games showed that the roos don't run games out that well. We need to smash them early and heavily.

..the Roo's will come out blasting, it's their friday night anniversary game, and more-so they wanna keep getting the timeslot so they'll need to prove they deserve it on-field.. ..player wise we'll field the better team, so provided we're switched on we should account for them easily before half-time..

Anniversary of what? Of them pioneering Friday night football only to see it taken away from them when it became popular? It should be a very sombre affair for them - and hopefully we can assist with that.

(Not having a go at you BKB, it's just one of the more ridiculous 'theme' games the AFL's come up with  )

grigg going to golscoast - doesnt deserve a game
Even if your first statement is true, your second certainly isn't. If he's form is good enough and there's someone in the side who is struggling (eg Anderson), he plays. If he goes to GC so be it. I hope he doesn't, but he signed a contract with Carlton, that contract will expire at the end of this year. He's within his rights to then leave if he so chooses. But I don't believe in punishing him during his current contract by not picking him.
you shouldnt keep pulling anderson out the side, this is his time to impress, give him another 3 or 4 in a row and i think he can become valuable. Grigg on the other hand, it is rumered, which is good enough for me to give anderson a spot ahead of him...for now

Sanity prevails and Waites charge thrown out.. as it was always going to be but you just never know with the MRP.. its a lottery.

I'd love to see them keep Ando in for now. I know he has what it takes, I just hope he shows it before he runs out of time.
They just have to make him believe he belongs at AFL level and he will.

There's also an article in the Herald Sun today about their (lack of) membership figures, more ammunition for them to all come out of the woodwork and put on a show. Would journos please stop writing articles bagging teams that are about to play Carlton. It's not as incendiary as that Hawks article, but still.

Poor excuse if we lose...
In the years when we were a rabble, opposition teams didnt seem to mind journos writing crap articles about Carlton the week before they played us... They'd came out and belt us anyway.... Time to return the favour...

Not using it as an excuse at all, but it seems to be a small trend to rubbish a team the week before they play Carlton and they then fire up.
