It has been rumoured that he signed with Gold Coast a couple of months ago.

Even if your first statement is true, your second certainly isn't. If he's form is good enough and there's someone in the side who is struggling (eg Anderson), he plays. If he goes to GC so be it. I hope he doesn't, but he signed a contract with Carlton, that contract will expire at the end of this year. He's within his rights to then leave if he so chooses. But I don't believe in punishing him during his current contract by not picking him.

yep. Grigg and McLean dominated, and Hendo kicked 8 goals... all against a bunch of 18 year olds. Perspective please.

IN: Armfield
OUT: Anderson

Bower to play in the VFL this week, he's missed too much footy to come straight in this time.

I suspect Yarran will be given another week to recover, but hopefully Armfield is fit. I think he'll come straight in for Joey, who hasn't done a lot wrong but probably looks the most vulnerable at the moment.

I don't think there will be any other unforced changes. If Waite gets rubbed out, Hendo will come in.

With Austin, Brock, Ellard, Grigg, Hammer, Hendo, Lucas, Warnock, White, Yarran & even Fisher pushing for selection in the coming weeks, I reckon there will be good competition for spots in the 2nd half of the season.

That means the pressure will really be on the likes of Browne, Garlett, Hadley, Robbo, Sauce & T-Bird to keep performing. I also think that Carlos and Betts need to lift soon or they might be added to that list too...

If he did sign a couple of months ago then GC17 must be stripped of early draft picks for breaking the rules. Yeah right that will really happen.

Out: Anderson (only to make room for those due to come back. I don't think he was as bad as what others are saying) & Browne
In: Bower and Armfield.

If Waite gets rubbed out (doubtful), then Yarran (if fit) or Henderson should come back in.

I am not entirely sure who will go if Yarran is fit to play, IMO I don't think many of the other boys deserve to be dropped. The only one I can think of is Eddie... based purely on his form in relation to kicking set shots... but I loved him when he was moved up the ground a bit... difficult one.

Hadley needs to stay in the side!!!!

I honestly think Setanta was simply beaten by better player on the day yesterday...

I agree. Setanta was fine. It's not all about kicking goals. He competes and is never beaten. The ball never gets past him, if he can't mark it, it hits the deck in front of him. Our little blokes up forward must love him.

lol 1 bad game all year and you're already off him. Maybe 2 (Hawthorn game) but name 1 tall key forward this year in the comp that hasnt had a few bad games? Even Pav had a shocker against the Crows this week and the likes of Buddy and Roughead have been on/off.

We have decent depth now with Waite, Setanta and Hendo which is really good thing is most times only 2 will get chosen in the team. I think hoping Levi and Hammer will make our future forward line is a really big long shot. Our 3 current guys are at the top of the pecking order and age is on their side as well. Waite, Setanta and Hendo could be the mix of our forward line for the next 5 years and that seems pretty good to me.

 totally agree jt

But I'll always be able to find a ruck spot for a fit and firing Hampson.

Inside the Dome with the roof closed is going means the track is going to be fast and dry.
Good for running and good for marking.
Bower, Armfield and even Yarran should step right in if fit and primed, but I'd be happy to see Henderson added too as a marking target.
Sprinkle the Helpers at their feet and theres the pace if nor marked.

I'd hate to see Thornton or Jamo injured with Hale and Hansen up forward; another reason why why I'd like to see Hendo selected.

How do you fit them all in. I thought T Bird showed something last week.

OUTS: Anderson Browne ...............INS Armfield Henderson

Out:
Anderson - doing ok but this is trumped by others who are better
Browne - if Armfield is fit

Partially Interesting Points
1. Bumped into AJ last year before the Geelong game and suggested he may have his work cut out for him on Ablett. his said he feels pretty confident against Ablett. Boomer Harvey is the one that keeps him up at night!

2. On another note, IF grigg has signed with GC, then its in our interest to get him in and playing well at senior level to increase anything we may get in compensation, provided he deserves a place.
ie. we should not keep him out b/c he has signed...

3. Have been SUPER impressed with 1AW's return from injury.

He was rubbish he had three possesions up to half time one of which was the free awarded before the bounce- he has 11 in the wet - 3 of his kicks after half time were off the ground and one he just blazed away and kick it to nobody finished the day with 7 kicks and 7 handballs 1 mark

If it is was such a bad day for tall forwards tell me how Green 3 - Waite 3 and 10 marks and thorton sent forward twice could also kick 2

Warnock a replacement in the selected side for Frawley simply towelled him up

His time is running out other players are getting dropped back to the 2nds for far better performances than he has put in the last 3 weeks or so and if the match committee are going to be consistant - next week should be his last chance as Bower is due back and Hendo kicking 8 cant be ignored someone has to make way

One good thing he did came about through his reluctance to draw body contact - he shirked the contest at the last minute and two dees players collied quite heavily - It was quite funny actually

i didnt even have to read the username on that post to know who it was

thornton kicked his 2 in the dry

green is not a tall forward and did all his work in the dry too

and waite did most of his stuff in the dry too - except the nice dribble goal at the start of the downpour

setanta wasnt a star yesterday but effective enough for mine - its not just about stats and possession counts
