White's first game was good, I think he can get better, of course, I may be wrong.

Have his games been good or have his opponents not punished him?
He will need to get better because Burton and Pods should have kicked almost 10 goals on him.

should have/smood have, have a look at his game against Pods, yes Pods could have kicked say 3 but even so White did some excellent things and he (*like Luicas) runs straight and pushes us into the corridor.

SOS kept blokes to 1 or less - do we count their misses?

Not meaning to be picky but I think you'll find it's "should have/schmood have"

No denying he has done good things, just stating the fact that his opponents have not hurt him on the scoreboard. I think he needs a rest this week.

If SOS played on the second or third best forward every week then the answer is yes.

Once he gets fitter I do. Did you see the havoc he caused when pushed further up the ground? Thought he set up some goals that others wouldn't of. If you have someone with his pace and skill covering the ground and running the lines its fantastic. Not saying he should play there all the time but he should rotate through that position.

The bonus now is we are so flexible and have options!

Apologies Psych, I have misunderstood you.

I thought it was your best 22 as of right now.

Can't fault it. If Bower and Walker were fit that'd be the 22 we'd have out there.

Started thinking about our best side the other day in light of our new fast paced game style, with increased run off half back and quick forward line - That's what happens when O/S with no access to footy!

So only room for 2 talls both up front and down back. Also with rotations need a pretty quick bench. On reflection here is my best team for 2010. Do need a defensive forward to ensure the "quarterback" with great foot skill is nullified and Houla has made that his own whilst also kicking goals. So.....

B. Armfield Jamison Russell
HB. Walker Bower Gibbs
C. Scotland Judd Simpson
HF. Houlihan Waite Yarran
F. Betts Stetanta Garlett

R. Kreuzer Hadley Murphy

I. Jacobs Joseph Lucas Carrazzo

The hard inside mid is still up for grabs for mine and could be any of Hadley, Mclean and Grigg.
Also Sauce could still be replaced by a more mobile tall, if either Hammer or 206 tear up the twos and Jacobs doesn't continue to improve
At the moment for mine the rest are just "depth" players, including T-Bird
I like the hardness of Robbo, but just doesn't have enough polish currently to get a gig for mine

Emerg - Robinson, Mclean, White, Henderson, T-Bird, Grigg, Hampson, Anderson, 206, Browne, Austin, Fisher

Thoughts :?: :fight:

Yep, can't disagree with any of your team, Meekster. Some might feel that Robbo should be in our best 22, but whilst I love his pressure, I agree he needs a bit of work on his skills before he can lay claim to that. That said, there will always be injuries, and he's knocking on the door.

Agree Robbo is next in line and if Garlett or Yarran (or possibly even Betts or Houla) go through a lean trot he'll be in the best 22 - always injuries so he will get plenty of chances to cement a spot

I reckon you're on the money.
I am an unashamed Hammer fan; I have him ahead of Jacbs, but for now Jacobs is defienetely ahead.

I do worry about 2 talls back and forward. If we had an injury during the game to Jamo, Bower, Waite or Setanta, then we'd probably have to rely on one of our ruckmen to (rest???) play as a forward target.

I'm wondering where and what role we can fit Zach Tuohy into next year as he seems to be developing at an excitingly fast rate of knots.

How things change!!!!

Still a lot of time before Round 1 2011 but how about this?

B: Touhy Austin O'Keefe
Yarran
HB: Russell Bower Laidler
C: Waite Judd Simpson
HF: Collins Henderson
F: Walker Kruezer Garlett
Foll: Warnock Gibbs Murphy
Int: Lucas Ellard White Armfield Robinson AJ Kerr Betts

Great Left foot kicks down one side out of defence & wing.
Several options for kick outs!
Yarran to play loose HB, create and run and develop engine.
Touhy to become tough BP we need.
Waite and Walker to rotate forward pocket and wing.
Icke said today Kruezer will play more forward with Hendo. Hopefully Casboult will be an option.
Deeper midfield.
Austin to step and handle bigger players.
Lots of flexibility and run and better skilled side than before.
Still have 18,33,41,58 & PSD to come.

The Psych....i love it........(particularly Yarran off HB and Gibbs where he should be).......

BUT, you are missing our trump card ie Lucas!???

he goes before O'Keefe in my best 22

If one of Tuohy O'Keefe and Austin step up in 2011 that will be a BIG win for us.

I look forward to the day when Judd, Gibbs, Murphy, Simpson, Walker, Lucas and Russell play in the midfield....my dream midfield.
