Quote:
Judd, who went through an emotional day when he lined up against his former team West Coast for the first time in a Blues jumper, said it could be a difficult day.

"You really try and tell yourself - and others - that's it's just another game, but when it is against your old mates you can't help but get a bit more worked up for it," Judd said today.

"I'm sure it's something I'll sit down and have a chat with him about."

I think he meant to say " i'll sit down and have a chat with him about the fact that he is OUT

Next week Bower takes Thornton's spot but Armfield doesn't take Browne's spot, he takes Anderson's spot and Yarran takes Browne's spot as Browne was the one trying to play that half forward role.. It didn't work but that was the plan at the start of the Eagles game.

This is going o be a great game! some really good matchups!

Russell is perfect for Sylvia but there may be times Sylvia plays in the middle so I don't know what they will do there. I would like to see Jamison on Miller and Thornton on Bate. Anderson will have his hands full with Watts and Walker on Green when he pushes forward. Joseph on Benell?

couldn't agree more - melbourne will run thornton around like a headless chook - and what sort of message does it send to henderson who can play forward and back and has more fizz than T-bird will ever have.

I'd rather see Henderson playing forward for the Ants than back for the seniors. Let him master one trade before developing the second.

Very good point Kev. Couldn't agree more.

Wow, didn't see those outs coming. Not sure I agree with them either. Wonder if Brock will be playing VFL?

Ditto,

As for Brock for the Ants, imo would make a world of good and bring him back to earth too.

I can't forget the shit stirring towards Judd when he was doing well running around Princes Park; that's a bit diffrent to real game time and what you do out there.

I can't velieve Hendo has been ommitted. Very surprised, but I don't disagree with it.
I would have preferrred he play, but no prob with the MC's choice, especially given Hadley is retained if there were questions as to which of the 2, Hadley/ McLean we would pick if there was room for only 1.

He had three assists, so I'd say it worked.

I expect this to be a free flowing game that will suit us down to the ground. Both teams shouldn`t be too bogged down with tagging or flooding.
Went down to Geelong to watch Cats and Dees last week. Despite the margin, they`re a good side who we will have some epic encounters with over the next couple of years. Should be close but....Judd factor.

If T.Bird is the third loose man in defence, as people have pointed out, then they wouldn't drop him..and if as you say it will be Army for Browne...then....doesn't that mean Joey will have to go when Bower returns?

Like Tbirds experience in defence... we need to win and at this point in time he is a much better player than Hendo.

Hadley and Browne add steel so they're keepers.

Ando needs to keep improving.

Go Blues.

Yeah you'd have to think Bower would replace Anderson not Thornton. Armfield for Browne. Yarren for ? (maybe Robinson...seems like they'd fight for forward spot)

Gee, so many people wanted us to recruit more talls but we have an abundance.

4 good ruckmen
Kreuzer, Warnock, Jacobs, Hampson

Tall forwards
Waite, Setant, Hendo (2 in the team is enough with Kreuz resting forward at times)

Tall backs
Jamo, Bower, Thornton, Ando, White and even Walker who has taken some talls (most sides play 2 tall forwards maximum 3 anyway)

Looking good

Not sure why people are surprised Henderson is omitted.

I agree the kid is playing OK and developing nicely and that development might be accelerated playing at the highest level.

But at the moment Jarrad Waite is our best option at CHF and Carlos is doing the job at FF .... so where can you play Hendo?

Those who want to play a third tall up forward haven't been paying attention to what has been working well for us. And there will be those who say play him down back (probably instead of Thornton). He is not a better backman than Thornton; and how does that help his development as a CHF anyway?

I think this is good selection .... maintains good team balance with best available players. Hendo's time will come.

As for McLean ... doesn't seem right physically to me but whether due to injury or form I don't think this is a surprising omission. Hadley was better than McLean last week.

Very confident this week after those changes.

good post, agree completely

I would rather Hendo in the team and Waite on the wing or down back.
McLean looked pretty sore last week, so I don't mind giving him a rest.

I heard that fat cauliflower Mark Robinson on SEN this evening

He tipped Melbourne because he reckoned that Melb would be filthy on us because we tanked in the last round of 2007 (Kreuzer Cup)

But he forgot to mention about Melb tanking last year.

IIRC he had a crack at Bailey last year for tanking.

The man is not a journalist's bootlace. He is however a great Carlton Hater

I heard that too.

Slobbo also said that we tanked the last game of 2007, not for Kruezer for for Watts and Naitanui. :screwy:

Anyway could see last year that Melbourne turned the corner in the second half of the season, but couldn't quite get over the line.

But why let the facts get in the way of a good Carlton bagging right???

Brock must be injured otherwise it appears very soft
either way there are 22 Demons with less of a sting in their tail

Watch Jeffy I'm tipping 4+ biguns

Frankly, I'm not sure we need the Mclean distraction. Why give the Dees something to fire up about.

Mclean's form over the season has been very disappointing. He has had a bad injury histiory so it is no surprise (except to those who decided to recruit him) that that would continue. They need to get him fit. Each time he plays badly we are told he was injured. He misses a game comes back, same thing happens. The first thing is to get him fully fit, if possible. If he is fully fit, then we made a bad mistake recruiting him, if he is not fit then what sort of medical did we give him? Really having he and Warnock in the seconds is not a great look for our decision makers. Hopefully McLean will do something impressive soon. He needs to. Thought Hendo was stiff as he competed well last week, but he is a work in progress.

Can't believe we traded a a first round for Mclean.
Such as a waste of a pick

We should have re-drafted Bentick instead...

Browne, Thornton and Robinson will drop out of the current side for Mclean, Bower and Yarran.

Anderson deserves his spot ahead of Lucas ATM.

Out : B MClean (Ommitted)

Case closed...

Now we need to find the offender who is accountable for this crime....

and determine the penalty !!!!!

Without wanting to be overdramatic, it can be little decisions like this that cost you premierships !!!!!!
