what's more, the players showed resolve in the dressing room after the game.
it's a good indication we should smash the dees next week.

1st coaching lesson - kick the @#$%&! thing straight when kicking for goal - oh wait - that'd be a player thing! We killed them except we didn't cos we missed too many shots on goal and we gave them easy shots in the last few minutes of every @#$%&! quarter. At times though...OIh at times we looked very very good.

Aren't we one of the more accurate teams this year?

We certainly weren't today.

As strange as it sounds playing under a roof would throw players off their goal kicking. Not sure why but it happens at the Dome a lot.

Ratts 3-2-1

3 - Garlett -- 9 tackles - 14 disposal
2- Carrazzo - his job on Hurn
1 - Gibbs - 45 touhes ( bit stiff hard task marker )

He was rapped with Jeffy and we play Jeffy's bitches next week last time he kicked 4

Funny :screwy: how we meet them again in just 7 rounds time.

one of the MMM commentators in the Carlton rooms just before interviewing Murphy stated that Ratts walked in angry and shaking his head, then took the boys immediately behind closed doors for a chat, Murphy agreed, saying Ratts wasnt too happy. This is a good sign for mine, gone are the days of being complacent for just getting the win

Also, want to take this opportunity to thank Sir Richard Hadley for providing one of the most amusing things I have seen on a footy field for a long time, in the 1st qtr when Selwood was going for a mark just outside our 50, with little pressure, Hadley ran behind him and yelled "yah". Selwood absolutely crapped himself and dropped the mark!!! priceless moment, thanks Hads, good to have you back!!!

Got a win, otherwise not a great deal to write home about, I thought they cruised through the game and did not smash the Weagles when they had the chance.

The percentage could be vitally important in the wash up at the end of the year, i wouldn't want us to play with that sort of lazieness against a good side, we would get our asses handed to us in a gift wrapped box.

It is dangerous to screw with momentum and form.

I thought Henderson was real good today and worked his butt off, i was very happy to see him get his goal as he deserved the reward for a lot of hard work.

But overall I wasn't super happy with the lack of urgency.

Due to injury, I thought this week's side was the weakest for the seaqson so far, and I thought we were vulnerable. However, I'm happy with a 5 goal win, even though we dominated and it should have been a 10 goal win instead. Have to work on our goal kicking, and this appears to be problem setting in to the side. Dissappointed with Hendserson's game, only 3 kicks. Although he presented at times, was not influentual at all. Will be dropped for Waite next week. Of the players brought in this week. Browne struggled. Hadley and Brock were servicable. Can we afford to have two inside midfielders next week? Walkers fitted back into the side and provided good run. Thingsd will improve for us in the next few weeks when players overcoming injuries will come back. How bad is Scotlands injury. Was it an ankle or a corkie?

Very happy to read this. Plenty to learn from the game today.

A bit of complacency set in, but I also think three blokes coming in after injury didn't help us run out quarters or the last IMO. Some interesting team selection issues next week, but in a good way

It's also funny how the Weagles have lost most of their games by around the five goal mark, they have only really been collared once despite the poor percentage.

Ratten just gave Garlett BOG "by a country mile" in the presser. Seriously, I would give it to Gibbs with 45 touches, but Garlett was incredible. How was that tackle on Lynch? He is ferocious inside 50 and punches way above his weight. Couple of great goals as icing on a great day.

Overall, should have won by a lot more but I'll take it, especially if we follow up against the Dees next weekend.

Frustrating win, really should've won by 10 goals. 4pts is better than 0pts so move on to next week.

Dean Bailey left at half time from my vantage point, Damian Hardwick was also sitting near me.

So Gibbs, Walker and Murphy were great, Jeffy, Robbo and Henderson were Great also.

T-bird is really struggling to stay with his opponents on the lead. As a key defender he doesn't get much body contact or spoils. Once Bower is back I can't see T-bird getting a spot in the 22.

Rattens presser was a laugh. He was asked about Gibbs 45 possessions and replied that he took no notice of stats - then went on to talk about Jeffrey being BOG by a country mile with his 9 tackles, 14 possesions, hitting the scoreboard, etc - basically talked about his stats!

Gotta say though - Ratts is starting to look more comfortable in his role so we will need to hold the Rack Satten thread for a little longer.

But is his talk of stats the gospel truth?
