I have a feeling Jacob's will do really well against West Coast. Nicnat will try and use Jacobs as a launching pad but Jacobs is a smart player and has the ability to position himself so he gets first use by protecting the space in front of him and the ball . A lot of the time we will see Nicnat jump really high but only to fall short of getting to the ball first because Jacob's will be positioned perfectly (it may force him to jump too early). I'm hoping anyway.

I have no idea what I am on about.

No no it was working.

It was working for me too.
Whether you are correct or not is another story.
I hope you're right.

Gone a bit slow with Hadley and McLean IMO. At least we won't need to worry about contested footy I guess.

Not sure on Browne being an inclusion. He flew over to Adelaide as an emergency and there was no VFL last week. So he hasn't played the past 2 weekends, I understand that we're down on numbers in the backline though.

I was hoping Grigg would get a run just because he's a favourite of mine.

Interesting that Houlihan is an emergency? Surely if he was fit he would get a game. I suppose he has to be an emergency though seeing as he was apart of the extended squad yesterday?

reckon this is how we'll line up:

FB: Joseph, Jamison, Anderson
HB: Russell, Thornton, Walker
C: Gibbs, McLean, Scotland
HF: Simpson, Henderson, Carrazzo
FF: Garlett, O'hAilpin, Betts
Foll: Kreuzer, Judd, Murphy

I/C: Hadley, Browne, Jacobs, Anderson

Jamison > Lynch
Walker > Kennedy
Thornton > McKinley
Russell > LeCras
Betts > Natanui?

I would be hapy if they played all them in their forward line at the same time. They would be playing into our hands.
I dont think they will.
I see Thornton on Kennedy whom he has done well on in the past and id say Jamo will go to le Cras. Ratts likes Jamo on smaller blokes like le cras, Medhurst, Ebert. Then i personally would put walker on Lynch/Mckinley to expose him like he did Hawkins.

Here's a decent acid test for those who wanted Hadley & McLean in the one team.

Can't really fault the changes; the cupboard is a bit bare at present.

McLean and Hadley in the same side. Hmm, some sort of show down? Great to see Walker back too.

Nice for Browne to work his way in also, even if possibly at the expense of injured players.

Fast and precise ball movement compensates for the leg speed as long as there's not too much empahasis on the former.
It's all about skill set. Hadley use to be a good with his execution, but lost consistency in the last 2 years imo.

I am so glad to see Hadley back.
I look forward to comparing McLean and Hadley's output; it'll all be on show for all of us to see. Good luck to both of them.
Furthermore, we'll see if the premise that playing the 2 of them can't work is a myth or not.

Go Hadley. So glad he's back. I rate him.
If McLean turns out to be the standout, then power to Brock and power to Carlton.
The pace issue with those two inclusions is compensated with a return of the speed machine.

Walker is back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't wait to prove DOA wrong regarding his premise of Carlton's ability to make the finals this year.
As I responded to DOA after he wrote us off without Fevola on our list   :

Carlton will shit in that challenge because 1AW will be back and he underestimates the power of 1AW at his own peril.
A win this week gives us a 2 game buffer. Why? We have the speed machine back. :thanks:

He's moved on and become an even better specimen since then chubbmeister.
I expect double the output now he's 24yo and a million kms under his belt.
He's an amazing specimen and his shoulder has proven it can handle the rigours of AFL.
The recent injury could have happened to anybody, except for the Terminator.

I'm so happy he's back....time to have a celebrating larger at the local.

I like the idea of McLean & Hadley rotating off the bench & centre. Gives both plenty in the guts doing the hard work and some good rest to begin again. Will be interested to see how this goes and I get the feeling it might work a treat.
